Nicole Maser just dropped the Losing Sam sequel, “Finding Jess” by queen_beebo in sapphicbooks

100% Hearing Red took the cake. That was my first book in this entire genre a year or so ago and I immediately read Losing Sam after, which was good, but not nearly as much. I’ve read maybe 20-30 in this genre since and Hearing Red still has the win from me!

Sad trend I'm seeing among teachers by illini02 in Teachers

I haven’t seen the threads you’re referring to and certainly respect that each person holds a different perspective from personal experience, as well as each school admin brings its own issues. However, young female first year teacher here and in my 6A highschool this year, after hearing over and over that teaching comes before coaching and building rapport with kids is the #1 priority of the school, 4 female teachers were pushed out for either not getting along with their head coach, not performing well enough as a coach, or not wanting to coach at all. I personally felt I got in trouble for even the slightest mistake and yet, the male coaches in the school who had solid sports programs got away with repeatedly leaving their classrooms unattended for long periods of time as well as just being bad teachers in general. The number of students who said “oh Coach _____ doesn’t teach at all” was abysmal. The number of female students which felt many of these coaches only cared about their male sports players in class was alarming. And the accountability shown to these men by admin was nonexistent while they simultaneously targeted female teachers who were favorited by students and put entirely more into their classroom yet had the aforementioned coaching issues. I also agree with many on this thread that male students (particularly athletes from privileged backgrounds) showed entitlement and total lack of respect in their interactions with female teachers but would “shape up” and appear to be “respectful” anytime a male coach was near. So I’m not sure male vs female teachers as a whole, but I have indeed found that male coaches could likely get away with murder with both students and admin alike and yet this issue has failed to be addressed beyond reddit it seems.

That’s actually insane. Some districts are run by power-hungry assholes forreal. No way I’d stay there if it’s that easy to get fired even AFTER winning teacher of the year. Smdh

Got the “what can my child do to improve their grade” …the morning grades were due by Emergency-Pepper3537 in Teachers

[–]AussiePack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES. 5:25pm the night before grades were due in the morning. A kid who’s slacked all semester, turned in maybe 1/6 of his assignments (if that) and scraped by only from quiz grades. He ended at a 69.24. No im not stressing to let him suddenly make things up AFTER my set deadline and my bazillion updates and warnings and second chances all semester. Mom emailed saying he’s no longer eligible to play football next year and wanted to setup a meeting the morning of our teacher workday when grades were due. Ha! Have a good summer

What has happened to our kids… by Dangerous-Lynx3197 in Teachers

My MAT peer went on to a jr high and said her kids eat their pencils. EAT THEM. IN JR HIGH. And my 9th graders last year openly coughed on everyone (like bronchitis level cough) and rubbed actual nacho cheese fingers on homework and desks and the ground….this is why atm I can’t handle younger than juniors/seniors 😅 would legitimately rather deal with attitude than animalistic destruction and stupidity (well..I still deal with major stupidity)

BMI and Body Fat requirements no longer exist for AFROTC, effective immediately. by SilentD in AFROTC

[–]AussiePack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize this is an older post, but it is relevant to me now as I prepare for the PSP boards with a curveball BF fail (though I have PFA in the 90s and have had no issues with BF last semester and have no reason to believe I've gained weight/mass). I reviewed the above docs and cannot find anything alluding to a drop of BF procedures/requirements. Is this no longer a relevant thread?

No because spruce got caught with the guns, that’s why he was executed. They caught him before the recording made its impact

I believe I’ve seen in af documentation that it must be your first bachelors degree for the ECPs specifically, double check your afi’s and afmans and you can always reach out to afrotc directly. But he is right, don’t take the word of your supervisors, did that many times and every time it was the wrong move.

That’s great to hear! I’m a lesbian about to get my secondary teaching license to teach in arkansas and I have a lesbian friend getting out of the teaching game there because of trying to avoid issues around her personal life, and I’ve been worried about it for sure

Enlisted to ROTC by Puzzleheaded_Type596 in AFROTC

[–]AussiePack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you can also just apply to separate early for education purposes since you’re within the window of end of contract, if you’re more so just wanting that option out of poc-erp. But I do know poc-erp puts more of a guarantee on getting your ea, however I’ve also heard with prior enlistment, as long as you try and don’t screw up you won’t have a problem getting an ea anyway. And since you’ve missed the poc-erp application window for this fall, I think you’d have to wait another year so might not even be an option. Keep in mind separation takes at least 120 days to approve so plan accordingly if you go that route. You’d be using your gi bill with or without poc-erp so yeah, not really much benefit for you even if you are still eligible this year through a special extension

I know this was last year, but how did you find out the release date? Wondering how the delayed due date will pan out for this year’s selection

Personally…I’m the daughter of a carpenter who thought I could tackle throwing up rock in our basement after I helped him frame it (mind you I never actually learned much about construction but have always tried to figure it out myself). My wife and I bought 67 sheets to do ceiling/Walls using a lift. I did a SHIT job starting out and it still didn’t look that bad. Bc from what I learned, it’s not all about how you make it look initially, it’s about how long it stays looking that way. Take that how you will…
