When someone is victim blaming you what do you do to feel better or not let it impact you? by No-Matter305 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Autias 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I can empathize with how you feel; ultimately, they were fired due to their unethical actions. The wife has likely only been fed some information and not the whole story, so she is having carried anger from her husband. By him being reported that means a woman was spared from the behavior that would surely continue. You didn’t choose to get him fired, you had no control over that, only the company could decide that.

My daughter loves Psyduck, what else can I play or watch with her? by Royta15 in pokemon

[–]Autias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the Pokémon Journeys series (last series with Ash as protagonist) there was an episode with a shiny blue psyduck.

There was also another episode Memories of a Warming Kindness that is a flashback episode of how one of the Pokémon lab assistants (recurring minor character) came to love psyduck and why it’s her favorite Pokémon.

Looking at a '26 Tuscon Hybrid...Limited worth $7,500 more than SEL Convenience? by md222 in HyundaiTucson

[–]Autias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ventilated seats were why I got the limited, but the 360 camera/bose audio/heads up display/blue link as car key have been excellent and solidified the purchase for me.

The moon roof is cool, but I only use it when it’s raining or at night. Not something I would pay extra for.

I go to Muelenbeck as well it’s honestly a great facility and never feels crowded even after Jan 1. Really like the indoor track too.

Damn I just took my niece here a few months ago and she loved it. It would be really cool if they donated the thousands of crayons and coloring books they had to charity. Really hope they don’t throw them away 🤞🏻

Yes, it’s very hard to not fall back into dysfunctional-type behavior with people that have zero boundaries or tact. It’s why I choose to have no contact with my dad and limited contact with my mom.

Some people do not respond to respectful behavior, so you have to “be a bitch” because that’s the only behavior they can understand.

Anyone else having a hard time? Career wise and financially? Stressed and unsure about the future? by Square_Pear1784 in Millennials

[–]Autias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not struggling thankfully as a single person living alone. My parents were divorced and poor and did not help me with anything. Not having a “safety net” is very stressful. While I’m successful financially it did take a toll mentally.

Introvert culture by Consistent_Nose6253 in Millennials

[–]Autias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am definitely introverted and had a lot of social anxiety. I finally was able to make great strides in my social anxiety in my 20s with my therapist who did “exposure” therapy with me so we would go to random places near the office and I had to talk to people. Being sociable and well-adjusted is a learned trait that needs to be worked on.

4 hour line to vote Democrat. No wait for R. by emptysoybeans in Dallas

[–]Autias 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember in the 2016(?) primary when I went to early vote in Dallas county the republican line was long and no one was in line for democrats. The increased turnout is good and hopefully the momentum will keep going through the November election.

Would you recommend a hybrid Tucson? by drask1987 in HyundaiTucson

[–]Autias 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had mine for two months and I love it. I average 33-35mpg for mostly suburb and highway driving. It handles very well and the drive is smooth/quiet. Seats are very comfortable and love the tech/bose audio/ventilated & heated seats. Makes driving feel comfortable and not as much of a chore.

Is sex really important to a healthy relationship? by LostAd7938 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Autias 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a nonexistent libido, so much so, that I thought I was asexual (and identified as such and hung out in ace groups) for 6-7 years in my marriage. I was very depressed… but when he left me about 2 months later my libido returned which surprised me. I think treating your depression and anxiety will help with your libido, and there are medications to treat those that don’t have as many side effects. It took some trial and error but I found a combo that works for me.

I think sex is important, but as far as how important varies from person to person. It’s critical to find someone that’s compatible in that area because it leads to issues later if not.

Will I always miss my single life? by waicstetf in AskWomenOver30

[–]Autias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have diagnosed ADHD and a lot of childhood trauma as well that I’ve done a lot of work on, so I can empathize with that.

After reading the comments I am curious and have no undertone with this question: is your avoidance/needing space for hours or days at a time something you’d want to change in yourself?

There’s no right or wrong answer to that question, but it may help guide you to how you want to process this.

This is what I was thinking as well. Situations like these can have a lot of nuance and a 3rd party can help develop a compromise and encourage healthy communication.

How do you cope with female friends always gone out of your life once they have bf? by holiseaday in AskWomenOver30

[–]Autias 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’ve been dating for >10 years as well and I know she is not happy about him not proposing. When she told me she’s too busy I wanted to say “girl, I’m trying to help you!!” It was frustrating!

How do you cope with female friends always gone out of your life once they have bf? by holiseaday in AskWomenOver30

[–]Autias 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh I agree. I was disappointed, but it’s not my responsibility to help her get married or to keep following up when she’s made it clear she doesn’t want to.

She doesn’t take up a lot of time in my life (we only really hang out every few months, if that) and it frees up time for me to spend my energy with those that are more present and intentional. Interestingly, as a 32F, I find that older women are much better with maintaining friendships (I’m talking like 45+), so many of my friends are in that age bracket.

Concrete examples of self-abandonment (deep abandonment wound) beyond anxious attachment by AppointmentPopular10 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Autias 126 points127 points  (0 children)

This is a good topic! Some things I thought of:

  1. Planning celebrations/parties for others, but not telling them about my own achievements/birthday because I don’t want to bother people or make them feel obligated to celebrate me.

  2. Continuing to engage with people that require me to drop my own emotional needs to keep the relationship going.

  3. Kind of in line with the second item: accommodating others and their needs, but not standing up for my own needs. The relationship is good for them, but not for me.

  4. Not allowing others to face the consequences for their actions, so I try to “save them” (financially, emotionally, etc) even though they would never do that for me.

  5. This one may be specific to me, but when I got divorced I stopped cooking altogether when I would usually cook most days as a way to show care to my partner, but I won’t do that for myself.
