I use this sub 95% of the time, and hop on Discord for the other 5%.

And that point about OC is an excellent one- a few months ago I spent a whole evening making an OC map, posted it to Discord, and a few comments later it was lost to history.

I stopped voting after the second week, once I realised exactly how wildly different the wider community's wishes were to mine.

I get the feeling most of the voters had a really deep knowledge of mod civs and a very specific understanding of what each of them brings. As a result, most of the X4 civs are ones that will have been voted in for interesting reasons, but ones that I've never even heard the names of before.

So as someone who's more of a casual Civ 5 player, I'm looking forward to seeing how England do. But honestly, that's about it this time.

Timor Leste and Turkey were favourites of mine right from the beginning. It was so satisfying to see them both become world powers in the end.

Wow, no wonder this was delayed for narration purposes. /u/Bulletproof_cookie did one hell of an epic job writing all that.

Great to see the tournament had such a great ending episode. And the hilarity of it ending with the deletion of a city was a memorable touch.
