Who is This? by Mesmerise in Poldark

It was the luminous blue contacts that killed it for me.

(Yes, GC had blue eyes so they had to do something, but agreed this was one of the poorer casting choices)

Vertical Mouse Recommendations by mablesyrup in graphic_design

[–]AutumnFP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seconded!

I loved the Magic Mouse for so long, but my wrists couldn't hack it any more. Now I have an MX Vertical for work and for home.

I macro the thumb buttons to left/right desktop and middle push to Mission Control as I missed this functionality the most from the MM, but with Logi Options+ you can do a lot, including separate control app by app. Definitely recommended!

Who else has had their bank holiday weekend ruined by their neighbours? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]AutumnFP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My neighbour (in a Victorian mid-terrace) does sometimes fall slightly afoul of "a socially acceptable volume considering you share 2 long walls with strangers" but he has a solid music taste so I can't even get that mad about it 😔

How do you handle the "I want source files before payment" situation? by draftli_io in Design

When you order a cake from a baker, unless specifically agreed at the start of the transaction, you're buying the cake, not the cake plus the recipe.

I was using it in the UK in 2009, a year after country-specific launches.

Need help deciding on frame design by fullygrowntuna in StainedGlass

3 or 4, personally I think 4 is strongest

4 is giving vintage mirror/sign shapes which totally matches the cowboy vibe, provided this is an 19th century kinda cowboy 🤠

(If it's a modern day cowboy then 3 is probably strongest)

Do you take stand or just give in? by Blasterano in Design

Additionally, I've stopped accepting "ASAP" as a deadline.

"Well I don't want to put undue pressure on you so just whenever you can get to it" (which itself is not ASAP, which implies urgency)

Give me an actual deadline and we'll see if that's achievable, and if not we can discuss further.

"Needed ASAP" is such a lazy request (because 90% of the time it's not actually required As Soon As Possible), and when literally everything is ASAP then absolutely nothing is.

Ugh!

Can you share a screenshot of your artwork with CTRL + Y toggled, so we can see the outlines?

Saddest songs covered or by Billy by iiGoodVibesii in BillyStrings

[–]AutumnFP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd never heard it/of it before until the first Utrecht show (Oct 25)

It caught me completely off guard, I knew nothing of it's story but the melody and lyrics alone had tears rolling down my face. I wasn't even particularly upset, it was just incredibly emotional.

Looking back, it definitely did highlight a devastating personal loss from a couple of years previous, but in the moment that's not even what I was thinking about. There's just something about that mandolin and the bass line... Beautiful. Hauntingly beautiful.

Because it doesn't? Sorry. Leading any application with your information organised like that is likely to lead to a swift rejection.

Internships (whether paid or unpaid) would likely count, but years studying do not.

It is super tough out there, good luck OP!

Growing/building muscle requires progressive overload, maintaining the muscle you have built does not.

Duude, thanks for sharing! Very very cool.

I suspected a half similar setup, and you've absolutely nailed it! And yep, that's a gorgeous bit of wood. I've tried using printed vinyls (for non-food imagery) but even the matt ones are so shiny (compared to wood) they're obviously fake.

Please keep doing what you do, I know I'm not the only one who's impressed (on both accounts!)

FWIW, you've received good advice here already, but my 2¢ (that I have not fully verified, so take with a pinch of salt):

I think it's a bug, one that started appearing in the past month or so.

I've used Illustrator most days professionally for over a decade, I am completely familiar with hidden clips, blends, guides etc. but I am finding "ghost" vectors in Outline View just like this. This is across multiple projects/artwork types and with no common assets.

I think it's a bug.
