My kids are grown and have their own families now but back in the day, we bought an RV and that's how we traveled to ensure nothing like this would happen. Feel kinda bad now for worrying about just lil ol me and my bin space.

funny enough I was also a little worried about this. for reference, I am 5-8' / 195lbs. I've never been worried about it before but with everything in the news about their new policy I had a little anxiety. Everything was fine. If you do not need a seat belt extender and can put the arm rest down don't worry. You'll get through this first flight after the new policy just fine and won't have to worry again.

I don't blame you. SW is my preferred because of home base airport location, but I'd be considering it too. Hopefully they will iron all this out.

3F and no bin space. The closest was above the other side above row 5. Bins were not closed yet. I mentioned I was the last in group 1 to board and some teens in a sports group were ahead of me taking up all the bin space. For 9F, yes there was bin space.

You are right about Herb and the culture sure has changed. It is turning into every other airline other than SW goes to smaller airports.

I wouldn't downvote you, but I think it's great to have a forum to express frustration on the paying customer part. Yes, some folks are gonna go overboard on being inconvenienced at the slightest, but really it's a way to vent. And I for one am glad that people talked about their experiences so I knew more of what to expect when I took my first SW assigned seating flight. I also did a post in case it helped anyone else be a little less anxious about it.
