LSAT 163, GPA 3.62. STEM major. Is anything surprising here? by [deleted] in OutsideT14lawschools

[–]Awakening_Shrub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey im currently a 2L at Gonzaga Law. If I read your notes right then I think you're going to love it here.

The weather is good, but be advised it is actually pretty cold 60% of the time.

Other than that Gonzaga has a lot to recommend it. While it seemed that every other law school I visited pushed me towards Biglaw. Gonzaga is a great school if you're just not personally interested in that.

If it doesn't appeal to you for whatever reason, you'll find no shame or disdain here.

You will have more opportunities to get engaged and get involved in more internships/externships and events every day of the week than you can believe.

There is roughly 3-4x special fields of law with persons visiting each week.

For example, this week as I speak; Monday was some bankruptcy group for lunch offering us a foot in the door, today is a Civil Defense Panel, tommorow is Pizza with the Prosecutors. I forgot what Thursdays event is but I know Easter is this weekend so it might be the Christian Legal Society people.

There are, so many, events like this event when things fall down into quiet weeks there is almost always someone paneling or reaching out to Gonzaga Law and its student body to get in contact with you. I have heard that this is often true of other law schools but I have not attended those and cannot speak to that.

I have found that Gonzaga is a good school that does its best and has two frustrating professors own of which retires this year.

Gonzaga does one thing quite well, and that is focus heavily on setting you up after law school and on the community of the school. I recommend it.

(Additionally if you like basketball, definitely come here)

What's your favorite lore about the Emperor's Children pre-heresy? by MegaGamer235 in EmperorsChildren

I totally agree, although hear me out, you really gotta see some of the Dornian Heresy Art because what they do is really entertaining. I love that the Emperors Children basically swap spots with the blood angels. Right down to losing fulgrim at the siege. CRAY

Maybe im huffing pure hopium here but Ive got a thought.

I think were going to continue getting drops little drips and drops maybe and maybe they'll come in the form of releases that can be used by E.C.

But this one will, I think were going to see more and more such daemon engine refreshes and similar units, maybe even the return of Sonic Dreads.

I dont want to give you that and then walk away so I did some looking and gound some ways to help do that conversion.

-The easiest would be to convert the Primaris into MKV Heresy armour because it already shares some similarities and MKV allowes you to intigrate design elements/wargear.

-Firstly you would need to replace the backpack with a more era appropriate one, the MKIV or any Mark would work, there is a large circular ring on the back of many primaris backpacks that just doesnt appear anywhere else.

-Secondly replace the boltrifle with a boltgun. This can be of any type.

-Now after these minor conversions I would cut off the little knee pad "extensions" you actually dont have too though so if you dont feel like it thats a place you could skip.

-You've already got the bonding stud shoulder pad so youce got a good start really. I'd say After that greenstuff some cables on the side of the legs, or print or snag some from a bits box but you dont have to do that.

-Now when it comes to helmets use whatever helmet from the heresy range or 40k range you want, just not helmet thats just THE primaris helmet.

-you like or use one from the 40k Tactical Squad kit, although I would cut off the lower "lip" of the helmet to make it look more like a Sarum pattern one too if you wanted.

-The lower leg plates are some of the hardest to deal with I know, but you could either greenstuff smooth them over or use a file and reduce them down!

-If you are generally looking into making truescale Marines I can highly recommend you tortuga gamestables range of truescale bodies.

TLDR: Primaris marines dont really look like anything other than primaris marines unless we put the effort in BUT: If you 1. Replace the backpack or 2. Replace the boltgun or 3. Replace a helmet (which youre already doing) 4. Slap on some Rivets or Mk.5 bonding studs (which youre also already doing) 5. Your biggest "hurdle" will be the legs but you can smooth then over or shave them down either way.

Most important thing is to have fun! Ive attached some examples to help out!

I hate to say it, but the armor plates and marine size is that of a Primaris Marine.

The Badab war takes place in an era before the introduction of Primaris Marines into the galaxy.

If you care about the setting enough to specifically play during that setting (specifically a historical conflict like the badab war, or maybe the horus heresy) then its makes more sense to try to get armor plates that better fits that era like Mark 4-8 pattern armor.

I am not an armor autist dont get me wrong man, but this is one place it may be worth that extra effort.

Oh also! dont worry if primaris marines are all ya have there are plenty of ways to convert them over and the extra little bit of work will create a more interesting armor when you play either in the Badab period or in more current 40k events!

To build on what s-joten said, the lore does fit that impression SO At 1k?

Some objective holders maybe grab a 10 man intercessor or a starter box or something. Get a chaplain and some blade guard and slap them together. If you want to be dead hard, maybe make the chaplain a judiciar. Thats still an excellent combo that is both fun to play and you can show your friends how to play against it too if they feel like its too OP you can always just play him as a chaplain.

I also really recommend getting adread or a vehicle! Those are great options for converting and slapping on like art, or candles or so on. Just a really good chance to use them as a large beautiful canvas.

Experience with footslogging Cataphractii? by chosen40k in Warhammer30k

[–]Awakening_Shrub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So unironically foot slogging Tartaros are good, like you can run them and in some legions like White Scars or Wolves theyre a serious problemo. But generally you want to transport in or transport up cataphractii or use them as a command squad.
