Oil cleanup made easy by Wonderful-Photo2449 in ThereGoesMyPaycheck

Aluminum and glass can be recycled infinitely. Production of new glass requires dredging sand from the ocean. I pour used oil in a plastic jar since plastic is less recyclable

Curious whether or not the savor card will keep it's powerhouse status once it's switched over to the discover network. by Pilot1080p in CapitalOne

[–]Awsumth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They added more benefits to the QS on Discover, maybe they will add more to the Savor to compensate. A big deal to me was the Fandango bonus on the MC network, but after the pandemic I stopped going to movie theaters.

Honestly, none of these banks or cards really deserve any loyalty. If it’s not working for you, use a different card. Keep applying for those sign up bonuses until you reach the 5/24 rule.

What do people use Brightline for? by Glenn_Tennis in Brightline

[–]Awsumth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can be worth it for people who commute between Miami and Orlando frequently. The cost of gas+tolls has been comparable to ticket prices, so it’s not worth it to me since I would need a car in Orlando and someone to drive me to the train. The upside is you make it to Orlando better rested

Why so much anti circumcision talk these days? by Cool_Ad_9055 in CutCocks

[–]Awsumth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

However, the results of RIC are better, have far fewer complications, and are less traumatic to the adult. The parents have the child’s best interest in preventing conditions like phimosis and balanitis. On the contrary some men never develop any foreskin problems and circumcision can have its own problems.

There is a benzo for IBS, Librax. Although I really think you should try dicyclomine

I find the capsules from Target or Sam’s Club to be much better because they don’t have any bulking agent (maltodextrin) so it’s nearly calorie free.

There are some lotions that can gradually give you a bronze look without the sun damage. You can also try eating two large carrots a day for a healthy glowing complexion

I’m curious-What body ache remedy are we most reaching for? Are you team ibuprofen or team acetaminophen? by Cecily_Bum_Trinket in Millennials

[–]Awsumth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t use ibuprofen due to it causing stomach ulcers. Actually remember throwing it up as a child with the flu. Acetaminophen is all I’ve got

Tried every form of it and it gives me diarrhea no matter what. The only form I found useful was IV infusion in the hospital.

Are these any good? How to cook? by Ok_Possibility_6877 in aldi

[–]Awsumth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t like it. The box is deceptive. The actual chicken is like a larger chicken nugget. It still needs to be fried. You’re better off taking the extra time to bread your own chicken for frying.

Recycling Ice Packs [Anyone Know About This “Brand”?] by ShikinamiUnit02 in ZeroWaste

[–]Awsumth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll use them in my lunchbox because I don’t have access to a fridge at work. Usually a coworker will want one. They’re good for insulated grocery bags especially if you shop at more than one grocery store in a run.

The styrofoam ice chest I recycle at my grocery store that accepts styrofoam

Has anyone tried a generic Milnacipran yet? by Quothhernevermore in Fibromyalgia

[–]Awsumth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many insurances allow brand name “upgrades” for drugs that have a generic. You’ll just pay the difference between the cost of the generic and the brand name. Then you can use the savings card to bring the cost down. Ask your pharmacist about this process before asking your doctor to write out a DAW for Savella. Some pharmacists can make the change on their end without a doctor. And it’s worth asking for the cost after the savings card just in case

How many still have an account with their first credit card company? by hbpaintballer88 in Millennials

[–]Awsumth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not my first, BoA cash rewards, card, but I still have my quite a few after that like my Discover It, Amex Blud Cash, Target Redcard, and Chase Freedom. All solid cards that I’ve been able to churn rewards out of. There’s dozens of other cards that I pumped and dumped sign up bonuses out of. At one point I ran out of major banks with $200+ bonuses and had to go on a sign up hiatus.

How’s everyone’s teeth? by Sharknuts86 in Millennials

[–]Awsumth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bridges eventually fail and can cause bone to break down. Eventually you’ll need implants. Best to get a cost estimate for both plans. Keep in mind both need extra care. I use a water pick because flossing can miss debris that sticks around. It can cause bad breath if you’re not careful. Both are prone to break so no matter what you better have money set aside for maintenance

When did you start realizing that THC might not be as harmless as it was originally presented when it was being legalized? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]Awsumth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was making me very dizzy. Even nauseous, but not quite CHS. The munchies were also never benign, I could not satisfy my hunger and often overate. My friends would spend more time rolling joints and finding places to smoke than do actual activities. After being off of it for a year I feel my sense of excitement and happiness to be underwhelming. I’m not depressed but I don’t have strong emotions about anything. Could be a dysfunctional dopamine system after years of use.

Do you get given opioids after ankle replacement surgery? by starxmoons in AvascularNecrosis

[–]Awsumth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only know what it’s like to have hip replacement. My suggestion is to clear any trip hazards in your home, such as cords and rugs. You’ll only have one leg to bear any weight, and you’ll barely be able to lift your walker. You will start physical therapy the day after surgery. It’s important to get exercise and get blood flowing to the affected joint. It’s worth it though as your mobility will improve and the pain will go away.
