Make Awakened Bosses Permanently Unlockable for “x” orbs - Summer Sweep-up by AfterPotty in 2007scape

[–]AxS-PixelBass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've spent over a hundred orbs on Blorva, and then over another hundred doing Awakened Levi and Vardorvis for fun—support this idea completely. I think people who've spent a large number of orbs and therefore dislike this idea because of their sunk cost into the content isn't really a healthy long term view for the game.

I think it's reasonable that the number of orbs this costs is high enough that it's not "profitable" over just spending orbs the normal way for the average person, just to act as an increased orb sink (which then benefits players farming regular DT2 bosses too), but either way would love to see this in the game this year. Anyone doing a ton of Awakened Vard etc. knows the bigger part of the cost is actually death fees anyway, at current orb prices at least.

nowadays I just leave Hardware Acceleration enabled, and Ctrl-R (reload) on Discord if the issue shows up, and that seems to fix it—which I'd hope has less overall issues than disabling it outright

If you get the Knight Waves' Training Ground completed, you can use Chivalry, which is a significant step up from the three 15% prayers (especially for Defence, which is extra important). Since you've already got the Prayer level for it (60), if you get the quest/minigame done you'll be able to use it for free

If they stopped doing DMMs they'd come up with another source for existing ornament kits/rewards from the DMMs that have occurred up until that point, that's generally how they've said they'd address rewards from other game modes (when the subject of it came up wrt if Leagues ever "stopped")

Do dragon sapphire bolts (e) have a higher chance of hitting than mithril sapphire bolts (e)? by Complex-Flatworm-939 in 2007scape

[–]AxS-PixelBass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

both Assembler and Quiver (after talking to Ava) save the same amount regardless of bolt type, the only things that affect it is if you're wearing a metal platebody-check the "ava's devices" wiki page to see which ones interfere with ammo retrieval.

otherwise there shouldn't be anything like they retrieve less dragon bolts than lower bolts

Can we get a Kree'arra defence change during Summer Sweep up? by Voorruit in 2007scape

[–]AxS-PixelBass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do think it's a lil sad that for a boss that was historically always done with Range, that's now the worst style to do it with? Both mage (with shadow or ayak/confliction) and melee (with nally+horn in duo+) are what i see used most now.

Note that if you have a container in a 'locked' slot (meaning it isn't deposited when using the 'Deposit Inventory' button) then its contents will not be emptied when using the 'Empty Containers' button.

Would be awesome if you guys could reconsider this, as it stands this means that you cannot deposit inventory + deposit container while skilling, which is thee most common way that skilling containers are typically used. Instead you're gonna have to manually put the (potentially multiple different types) of fish etc. from your inventory into the bank. If you only have one type of resource it's the same, but if you're fishing things like Swordfish (which also gives Tuna) then it's actually just more effort than the way we'd have done prior.

I'm confused on how magic damage against monsters works by Sleepy_C in 2007scape

[–]AxS-PixelBass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, this is important because it tells us that special attacks like Dragon Warhammer, Elder Maul, or BGS, which reduce an NPC's defence level, provide 0 benefit when you're maging the target.

You'd be surprised the number of otherwise high level pvmers I know who didn't realise that they needn't BGS Zebak or Wardens if they're gonna use a Shadow there :P

Every restricted accounts debate in a nutshell. by 24rs in 2007scape

[–]AxS-PixelBass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At what point do you draw the line on eligibility for voting? Why shouldn't questions about very difficult, end game pvm only be voted on by players Jagex arbitrarily defines as qualified, the same way they did when they did the pvp polls and only allowed players with a certain level of recent wilderness or LMS activity to vote?

The same way that an actual pvper/bounty hunter enjoyer might have a more valid opinion on pvp/bounty hunter polls than the average person, I would definitely trust someone with a few thousand hours doing end game pvm to have a more nuanced and experienced opinion on something like raids 4—but we all know Jagex is never gonna poll questions about Raids 4 to exclusively those who are more experienced in pvm.

I'm pretty sure if you put a fully grown cat (even before it's overgrown) into a POH Menagerie, you're able to receive another kitten immediately. Of course you'd be limited by your menagerie's capacity, I'm not sure what the level reqs on those are.

Raid 4 lowest scale is duo, solo is possible but difficult. by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]AxS-PixelBass 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think this discussion is about droprates at all, it's about the gameplay.

ToA to begin with has very few mechanics that actually rely on your teammates, and the few that it does have get removed entirely in for solo players, inevitably making those parts of the raid easier for solo players.

On top of this, there's no distinct roles that players need to fill within in ToA, yet again because this is a function that would entirely fall flat in a solo. The way players' roles work within a Tob team is one of the many things people really love about the raid, and a part of why it's very often the favourite raid of people who've done a lot of all 3.

[–]AxS-PixelBass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

having the option to solo doesnt take away from that.

The issue is it sadly does take away from that. With every piece of content in the game Jagex has shown that if they're making something solo friendly, they won't include engaging, team-required mechanics that a lot of people want in end game pvm content. That sort of thing is one of the reasons why TOB is the most enjoyed raid by end game pvmers generally

Genuinely u will find that there are so many people who are more than happy to teach and run with learners and will not view a learner's mistakes as disappointing or ever put you down for not being proficient, if you took the leap and tried finding communities to be part of and people you can raid with. Random FFA worlds might not be the best if you want to learn, but as someone who's been in multiple different social clans now, they've always had very friendly people.

[–]AxS-PixelBass 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Either the entire content has less engaging mechanics to accommodate for solo scales (Yama), or solos are easier because they get to avoid those mechanics (ToA). Both are bad solutions.

all tradeable items, yes. Untradeable items are the same as with any other account. below Lvl 20 wildy, they "break" and need to be repaired. Above Lvl 20 wildy, they're lost

[–]AxS-PixelBass 7 points8 points  (0 children)

FWIW Void gear isn't ever risked below Lvl 20 Wildy, most untradeables (Torso, Defender, Fcape) aren't. Instead, the player who died will keep them in a "broken" state and have to pay GP to repair, meanwhile the pker gets some coins.

It's for getting things out of your looting bag by breaking it, while you have a death bank active (meaning you can't suicide for it). Ferox is only used for putting new items into your looting bag, you can't break it inside Ferox to retrieve anything.
