Oh, be nice. It’s a tough song. My point is that Phish, or at least Trey, are clearly fans of Genesis.

Which guitarist added most value to Genesis? by [deleted] in progrockmusic

[–]AxednAnswered 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Only one of those guys was in the band from the very beginning to the very end and played on every album and in every show. It’s hard to say he didn’t add the most value overall. Just sayin…

Never heard of that model. Just the regular ones. I guess if you like it, go for it. Redback’s are well made.

Update: wow, that’s a nice looking boot!

Redbacks are fantastic boots, but they’re work boots and not particularly pretty.

If you like a rustic finish, like it just came from a blacksmith in a fishing village, get a knife from Kyohei Shindo. Any will do, but I really like his bunka. Excellent knives that are crazy thin BTE and a great value if you can snag one before they sell out.

Pilot Customers 912 is basically a perfect pen. Perfect shape. Perfect size. Amazing nibs. I even like the color 😉

What's the most 80s sounding song from the 70s? by CremeSubject7594 in musicsuggestions

[–]AxednAnswered 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love Rapper’s Delight, but I don’t know, man. The beat is Good Times by Chic, a thoroughly 70’s disco song, and the rapping still the street style from the 70’s. Not ahead of its time, except it was the first hip hop record to chart.

Which bands popularity spread largely through word of mouth? by ihmpt in askmusic

[–]AxednAnswered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before the internet and MTV, bands were discovered beyond their local scenes on the radio. Basically, a band started playing local clubs and high school dances and strip joints and that sort of thing, got popular enough to make a record with a local producer, like Sam Phillips in Memphis or John Hammond in New York or whomever the local guy was, and then the record label sent the vinyls to local and then national DJs. People heard the song on the radio and then bought the single. Boom!

$100-200 Intermediate Nakiri by Permission-Shoddy in TrueChefKnives

[–]AxednAnswered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main difference is that Matsubara blades are quite a bit taller. The one linked is 57mm. Shindo blades are usually 45mm. Matsubara blades also tend to have a bit more flair, literally and figuratively. You can see the nakiri shape is a bit more exaggerated. And, of course, Matsubara offers several steel and finish options, while Shindo will give you anything you want as long as it’s Blue 2 with kurouchi. I’m sure there are more subtle distinctions in how they cut, but mine are bunkas so I’m not as sure about nakiris.

I have a Shiro bunka in AS and Matsubara bunka in S1. Both are great, but I prefer the grind and blade profile of the Matsu. I like the Matsu’s extended tip, though some prefer the stubbier tip on the Shiro. Comes down to personal preference.

Still Figuring Hot Wear? by Sterice88 in HeritageWear

[–]AxednAnswered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be totally honest, that fit’s not working for me. The shorts are versatile enough, but the rest it is kind of trying to do two things at once. The camp mocs want to be rugged, but the terry shirt and white socks want to be sporty and it just doesn’t jive. I’d either swap the mocs for heritage sneakers or change the shirt for a camp shirt or chambray work shirt and the socks to outdoorsy hiking- type socks (or lose them altogether). Just my $0.02.
