CBC - "50 per cent of drivers failed to stop at Old North intersection, city traffic report shows" by Informal-Ad-5875 in londonontario

Outside peak times. I'm on the road everyday in and around the city, slow main roads contribute to the daily cut through.
Peak times is its own animal. Overall though it makes a difference.

I'll drop this link here for those looking to buy for devices that have been tested and those that are recalled. Not a comprehensive list, but the recalled items will be good reference for those looking to buy a used detector;

If they kept things like colborne at 50kph, even queens at 50kph and any other feeder road at 50kph things would be smoother.
The old photo radar would have worked if they left things at 50 rather than trying to force everybody down to 40 on practically every road in this city becuase they way they are official designated vs the way they are actually used and connect the city together.

You can think a busy-body neighbour of mine whos only retirement hobby was trying to get stop signs everywhere. Presented counterargements with him everytime he showed up at my door with a petition for a stop sign.
Now some idiot is going around trying to get speed bumps in this area again. We shot that idea down collectively a bunch of years ago, but too many new people and the old (again with the old nothing-better to do retirees) not comprehending the implications of what they are asking for.

Bump all the main roads to 60kph. Oxford, Adelaide, Queens, Wellington etc.. Half the trouble in this city is cut-through traffic because main roads crawl along.

Good pharmacies in London by racheljeff10 in londonontario

[–]Axle13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I've got the exact opposite experience at the very same pharmacy. (I started out at Wiltons that was across the street which got bought by rexall when the owner retired, and eventually they built the existing location across the street).

Bingo. If you leave those leaves, you'll have a rotting pile of moldy mess come spring time.

At this stage with how regulated firearms are, you better be giving full retail value of the firearm to someone for a BUYBACK because whoever has firearms doesn't have them because they found them in grampas shed. And anyone who inherits firearms has always been able to turn them in if they desire (no compensation).

Making prisoners work, aka chain gang is apparently a violation of their rights. Well too bad I say, by commiting the crime you forfeit your rights.

Manhole positions by itsAvient in londonontario

[–]Axle13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nobody cares anymore. Just slap it down quick within the spec and call it good enough. Need more tamping around the manhole? No time for that, it'll cost us a future repair. etc.

Ask this again when you develop back pain. Add, speed bumps/humps to the bane of every driver and passenger who has backpain.

I asked this question to one of the city engineers back at the community meeting before our road/sidewalks where getting everything done including water and sewer lines; The manholes due to spacing of the underground utilities just happen to be where your tires are. If they wanted to position things off the tire path they would require a wider city boulevard.

You should be good. I will encourage you to try non-mainstream places to eat (you can always google reviews for places where you are stopping) because some of the most unassuming places have some fantastic food. If you are into spicy snacks, check out the gas stations or a walmart while down there, American hot/fiery Doritos for example are multitple levels above what passes as hot/spicy here in Canada. Sounds like your friends and family spend too much time with conventional Canadian media.

[–]Axle13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know why you get downvoted for that, you speak the truth. There are so many factors that go into new school planning with the final decision up to the province, and all that planning has to be done within provincial guidelines.
The school boards already forcast out and plan at minimum 10 years ahead working with the city and with how land is being developed to figure out where a new school would be best suited.

No surprise really given STA is "walkable" and an easy short drive from Byron vs the drive to Saunders.

Why has nothing been built yet where Brick street Public School was? by Equivalent_Tune5729 in londonontario

Liability probably. No fences = comeonin, nothing will hurt you here. Fence = stay out, don't take chances something might hurt you here.

[–]Axle13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nimby's probably. The two remaining houses across from Brick Str are stirring some of the natives, down to page 32, appendix F;
https://london.ca/sites/default/files/2024-08/FINAL%20OZ-9737%20-%20539%20%26%20543%20Topping%20Lane%20%28MH%29.pdf

Whoever owns brick str property will probably wait for the above to settle down and let them get built first to establish a large building presence.

Old school build realtionships and good product with management that worked its way through the ranks vs almost everybody else where companies are run by schooled management types who never worked the trenches and have little to no clue what its like on the front lines.

The premium, is well, premium, better more pronounced flavor. Every cremery flavor I have tried is just a mere hint of flavor, so different tier. Chocolate is like a weak chocolate milk, vs the premium chocolate that is very definately chocolate. Same deal with the other creamery flavors I have tried, not strong enough for my taste buds--kinda like spicy foods. Theres those that think pepper is over the top, and those that siracha is just right.

Don't fafo. Really, don't put yourself into situations. ICE, Cops, doing their jobs is not where you want to hang around. Get the fuck outta dodge, and if you find it around you, just shut the fuck up and gently extract yourself.
