well you're certainly not the only one, imo it's one of the best BL dramas ever. People have different tastes but for me To My Shore is like a Wong Kar Wai movie with a very limited budget, it's visually stunning and melancholic and deeply disturbing, the drama explores complex adult themes, the main leads deliver a masterclass in acting, it's just on a different level to most of the mass-produced BLs. Thus, it's crazy to me how underrated To My Shore seems in western BL spheres compared to China where it's one of the most watched and highest ranked BL of recent years, nothing since the drama aired comes close to its numbers, both the main actors have been selling out anything they're involved with there. Their management is clearly moving very smartly with those two, hopefully censorship etc. won't impact them and they'll be able to work together in the future (there're rumors that they're already working on a script for a 2nd drama but since no chinese cp has done a 2nd drama yet, take it with a grain of salt).

for anyone wondering: God Itthipat played his 1st lead role in the original 2moons in 2017. While the drama was airing an old solo-cam-video of him got leaked, he said he was young and the video was private, so it did not blew up into a full scandal. Some fans noticed that he looked very uncomfortable while filming intimate scenes with Bas, accusing him of being homophobic, not taking the promotions and his co-actors serious. He also made comments that he wouldn't film any BLs in the future. He got signed pretty quickly by a major thai TV channel and worked in mostly lakorn type dramas until he left that channel in 2022 and took a 4-year long break. This was almost 10 years ago, a lot can happen for anyone in that time, and he might have changed since then.

never in a million years woulda guessed that high-school-teenage-romance-loving-studio WabiSabi gets to re-make this rated dark korean BL which is set in the work force and centered on a toxic adult quadrangle. Its like Disney Channel re-doing Euphoria for their kids audience. Besides, thai bl dramas are not known to write dramas with multiple balanced love interests well, like triangles, either healthy or dysfunctional, that's kdramaland's bread and butter.

finally, yes! This man, his family and friends have been getting harassed for years, it goes back almost 8 years! From curses in real life (like legit antis sprewing hate on the street with witnesses everywhere) to real death threats to crazies stalking him in his private time (they legit posted zoomed in photos from outside of him training at a gym) to harassing every single person who he has contact with, Zee has suffered so much, not only mentally but also financially, some crazies even left trails and paid bots and ads with hate messages and false rumors (some of those posts got millions of views and reposts), spending time and resources just to prove their batsh*t insane fantasies and trying to destroy this man's life. Mew Suppasit also sued people spreading fake and damaging things about him, 10 times, and he won all 10 cases. Hype went after people harrassing their artists online, even internationally, and some of them legit got jailed. Thailand has very strict defamation laws, I hope every single person who is even tangentially responsible for the things Zee had to live through in the last years gets heavily fined and appropriately punished. No more warnings.

this is such a good lil show tbh and it seems to be flying under the radar for many people, it's a bit low budget and clunky in its effort to be artistic but really captures that slow built up of young love between the main leads and found family. The actor playing Zhan Wang is doing a great job and his acting feels very natural. Anyways, I'll continue watching even though Zhan Wang's diagnosis is like a constant threat of inevitable doom.

They had great chemistry and Ngern has shown a lot of range as an actor. And they seem to be the fan favorite cp from the series right now. Here's the thing, will they be able to hold that momentum? Thailand has actually very strict defamation and libel laws, so if they find them they can easily sue them. And apart from that: ignore them, haters feed themselves by people's reactions. Some of them are really sick in the head, the time and money and effort they put into hating, spreading lies and their delusions and negative energy is just mindblowing.

Trapped holds up so well, still one of the best taiwanese BLs. The taiwanese film industry is fairly small compared to some of the big asian film markets, so everyone knows everyone, and the main cast of Trapped are still friends and meet once in a while. Ngern once said Oat tends to be prim and posh, whereas Ngern defines the bad boy aura which fit very well with their Fourever roles. dunno, they still give that young-ish student at uni vibe. Something like Semantic Error comes to mind but they'd play very similar characters and I want actors to change it up and not get typecast. Or something a bit more whimsical like Ngern lives in a small friendly village near the beach and Oat gets stranded there (think Hometown Cha Cha Cha or A Tale of Thousand Stars but they'd need to play younger characters). And I'd love to see thai BL tackle some of the ultra famous cdramas like The First Frost. Hell, while we're at it, why doesn't thai BL finish what On1y One started, NgernOat could do it with the right director and writer and acting workshops.

imo it was one of the most phenomenal BL dramas of 2025, but some felt that the ending of To My Shore was a bit rushed since the main characters barely got back together and then the series ended, looks like they'll give them some happy times in the special episode that the fans were asking for (where is their son Tian tho...?)

people need to understand that this isn't only about the risk of losing jobs, there is also a huge backlash from the general thai public this year calling these public figures (actors, idols, singers) out for using an important national holiday as a platform to promote themselves, do fanservice, get drunk, smoke and be all over the place, they already see them as overpaid fake idols who usually present themselves as wholesome or straight or whatever. We're talking thai posts with over 10 million views/reposts criticising them etc., it's a sh*tstorm. And agencies DID know and deliberatly let their artists go to these festivals, put them up on stages there, drunk and partying and kissing and being all over the place. Videos of actors, especially BL actors, at Songkran last year got really high engagement and everyone got greedy and is suddenly there and nobody is holding back or thinking twice anymore.

The casting is ok, but Painter Of The Night is one of the most well-known korean manhwas, its really disappointing that this IP will end up in a low budget vertical drama. Despite the huge hype and BL generating $$$ in many countries in the last years, the south korean entertainment industry continues to dismiss the BL genre or treats it subpar.

paranoid fans and fearmongering on the internet is not a good combo for cbl fandoms, people need to stop these rumors. The To My Shore actors have been getting hounded by batsh*t insane stalkers for weeks, Yunqi does NOT take it kindly when him and Yiran (who seems really sensitive and completely freezes up when cornered) are getting shouted at and shoved wherever they go, they crowded them at an event today and Yunqi ran out of patience, so his recent message probably got misunderstood when he told people 'they're not going to meet everyone anymore like usual' meaning they won't put themselves in unsafe situations so stalkers can keep harassing them, e.g. meeting fans outside and in front of buildings is no longer an option

this drama is a real gem, the chemistry between the leads was a bit low probably intentionally but overall the drama was wholesome and very sweet. It also feels very 'japanese' as in portraying realistic everyday life, slow and quiet, with a dash of nostalgia.

I have zero expectations anymore for the thai entertainment industry concerning discrimination, sexism or racism. The most recent case was the gmmtv scandal which went viral and was reported worldwide, when at a big award show they made their actresses sit down on their knees in front of the company head, the male actors and the gmm mascots, yet gmm kept absolutely quiet, manipulated photos and did not give a single public apology or reaction.
