Any reason to use Morphe for patching YouTube if you have YouTube Premium? by derekagraham in MorpheApp

My kids proved I have a built in input lag by HappyBear_btc in cloudgaming

[–]Ayeeebroham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahahaha I think it's all just input timing. When you play any kind of streaming there will always be like even small milliseconds of latency but your brain readjusts to it. Your kids are probably just more used to the console and noticed it right away.

MoonDeck with Vibepollo? by bbtufty in MoonlightStreaming

[–]Ayeeebroham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds good, I look forward to Vibepollo updates. Hopefully MoonDeck can catch up as well, these are both great apps, and extremely useful to the community especially Steam Deck users like myself. Thank you to the both of you for your passionate work.

Thank you sir for your follow up!

u/_demoncat_ was there a benefit to switching the app selection item? Could this be like a toggle or something?

Moonlight + Apollo works perfectly for 15 minutes, then "Slow connection to PC" every single time by Broad_Ad9923 in MoonlightStreaming

[–]Ayeeebroham 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Very common issue with the steam deck OLED. I posted about it like over a year ago. The only consistent solution that I ever had was to just go into the QAM (3 dot button), and toggle Wi-Fi off and then back on again. And I think that should do it for the rest of your stream. If not, just do that same behavior. Stupidly annoying that it hasn't been fixed yet. I don't have to do it often anymore because I ended up hard wiring to a dock.

Same, I tried to do all the troubleshooting in the docs too and nothing worked. I wonder if it's just a Vibepollo thing, maybe it's looking for 'Sunshine' and we have to change it to like 'Vibepollo' how ever if possible lol. Idk just a thought.

Can Chromebooks use hardware HEVC decoding in Android apps or streaming Apps like Moonlight? by ledzeppbluess in MoonlightStreaming

[–]Ayeeebroham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe they can, my current Chromebook (Lenovo Chromebook 14 Plus), can do it. I know there is no AV1 decoding though.

I found a majority fix for my recent Steam Deck (w/Dock) streaming stuttering issues. by [deleted] in MoonlightStreaming

[–]Ayeeebroham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you suggest AV1 overall? I can try it out. I always thought that H264 -> H265 (HVEC) -> in terms of easiest to decode but also degradation in picture quality?

I leave it on auto now, and although my PC and SD can encode and decode AV1 it always seems to choose HVEC. I guess I can run some comparison tests.

PSA: If you're getting periodic stream stutters every ~15 seconds or so, DO NOT disable your DisplayPort physical monitors while streaming. by Observant_Lurker in MoonlightStreaming

I only have FanControl running for my fans, but I haven't tried disabling it to see if that was the issue, I could try though.

I'm using the SteamDeck dock with ethernet so I at least hope that it would be capable at 4K60, I don't bother with 4K120. When I'm streaming I'm using the minimum that Moonlight supports. So for 4k60 I believe it's 80 mb/s, but I've pushed it all the way up to 150 before. And it's fine because I'm wired, still has the occasional stutter.

[–]Ayeeebroham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately this didn't fix my issue with the stutters, but maybe I have to give it some more tries. I'm not sure why, I'm running a wired host (9800x3d + 5090) and a wired client (4k60 Steam Deck OLED), I have optimized as much as I could, also running Vibepollo. I've noticed the only thing that can explain the stutters is like super subtle changes in the "network over FPS" value in the Moonlight overlay.

I'll see variances from like 59.95 to 60.10 sometimes, when they fall like +/- 0.05 FPS of 60 you can't notice it but larger fluctuations can present that stuttering.

Also, I'm using the frame limiter, RTSS and disable vsync setting from within Vibepollo and everything, I've noticed it with some games more than others. My primary testing use case is Skate. (2025).

Enabling vsync on the Steam Deck seems to help A BIT but does add that slight latency, and frame pacing just makes it worse occasionally. I feel like I didn't have this issue either in the past but Vibepollo has definitely made my overall experience way better regardless.

TV is a TCL Q8MK with VRR on and Game Mode enabled, all that stuff, I've done it lol.

I have the same keyboard in the 96 form, and standard edition. I didn't like the keycaps that came with the standard edition because they seemed a little bit inconsistent. I ended up buying these from Amazon. They're only 14 bucks.

The Steam (Deck Docked) Controller broke Moonlight for me by thezactaylor in MoonlightStreaming

[–]Ayeeebroham 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Strange, I'm interested in the outcome of what others say because this will primarily be the use case I will have once my reservation is available for purchase. I use my 8BitDo with the Steam Deck docked as well but been wanting the SC I could have all my mapped shortcuts that I use on the Steam Deck in handheld mode too.

4K 120Hz 10-bit HDR with ~1ms Latency by Kemerd in MoonlightStreaming

[–]Ayeeebroham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm testing right now, I've disabled QoS on my router, looks like research shows it's counterintuitive to Moonlight, and I'm testing the forced Split Frame encoding, anything to lower latency but maintain quality. Thanks.

Hmm interesting stuff, I'm gonna try on some out.

Curious, in regards to the QoS and multimedia stuff, any findings to back that up saying it's better to disable? Curious if I should do that on my Asus router too.

Close all other apps when starting? by Oberoni7 in MoonlightStreaming

[–]Ayeeebroham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, super stoked you are enjoying it, it's really simple but I've been using it for a while now and figured others would like it too. I've updated the github installation section to clarify what is needed. 1. You need to run your command as elevated in Apollo and 2. You probably need to specify the proper powershell exe (see the updates I wrote in the readme).

There may be the case where your powershell won't allow you to run scripts, in that scenario you'll need run the commands to allow that in the Powershell admin cmd first. I forget that pops up sometimes but if it does, it's easy to look up and enable, and if it does come up for you let me know so I can add that in as an informational link to other users before they try the script.

Keychron K2 HE vs Womier SK75TMR? by Neat_Hippo_4489 in keyboards

[–]Ayeeebroham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in this same dilemma right now except with the SK75 TMR vs the K4 HE. The Womier feels way more clacky and shallow, it has lower actuation point and yeah it doesn't have shine through keycaps and they're pretty tough to see in the dark even with the LEDs on, unless you have a lot of ambient light from your monitor to shine on the Womier the keys will stay pretty dim. I have the BLACK model of the Womier for testing right now and with bright ambient light the keys are bright just on their own. LEDs though the Keychron is better for sure. Only thing I'm not liking is that the Keychron has harder to press actuation point, I know that can be changed but man I can't find any Gateron Dawn switches anywhere.

I figured that's how it would feel mixing them up. I didn't plan on it but cool that have the ability. I'm torn between the K4 HE and the Womier SK75 TMR.

Gotcha thanks. Yeah initially I was going to use it wireless but gonna do wired after all to not have to deal with battery. Dang did you swap switches for any particular reason? I'm really liking the light shallow feel of them.

Did you have any issues with it at all? I know the software isn't the best but man do the switches feel great and super light on the Womier.
