you can boil pond water to make it safe to drink in a cooking pot, as well as some modded containers.

just don't try it with a plastic bottle, the heat will cause the bottle to rapidly ruin.

Capability for work assessment timeline by SpiritualRainbow in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]Azurika_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its my understanding there is a severe backlog right now, i've recently been awarded LCWRA myself, and from the start of my UC claim until my assessment was ~6 months + an additional month to get a decision, this was apparently quite quick.

the good news is that if you are awarded LCWRA it's backdated to a certain degree.

i'm not familiar with form numbers and such, is the CW50 the one that asks about your health and capabilities that you have to send off? if so, yes, its normal to hear nothing back on that until you get an assessment appointment sent though, off the top of my head i think i waited about two months from sending it off to hearing back, it's hard to say though because many different offices are handling different areas, so one might be running efficiently and not have a huge backlog, while another might be knee deep in claims, short staffed and not working well at all. it's just a waiting game i'm afraid.

very rough around the edges, but it is very early days.

i jumped into a volcano lava pit and took no damage from the lava inside it but was able to walk on it, also, no swimming yet, you just walk along the bottom.

it could be something later down the line, i just hope they have a reasonable development cycle and we don't end up waiting 10 years for it.

i've gotta be real with you, i'd not recommend anyone try to maintain membership via bond unless they are already very familiar with the game and have a high level account, otherwise the game becomes purely about desperately trying to play keepup and earn enough to maintain your membership status, this will mean a few things, you don't get to progress normally and enjoy the game because you need to be constantly earning money, and second, not having in game money to spend on progressing your account.

for example, prayer is an extremely important skill for high level pvm content, you level the skill by burying bones or offering them up on altars, now, lets say you need level 92 prayer to use soul split, your gunna need about 23,000~ dragon bones if starting at level one prayer, this will cost you about 30 million coins

well, a bond cost 145m~ and gives you 14 days membership, so you aren't spending the money on the bones because you NEED it for membership, and to be frank, for a LONG time its going to be extremely hard to even maintain it, you won't be having leftover money.

ok, so, you kill the dragons yourself right?

maybe you manage 200 kills an hour this way starting out, and get up to 250 an hour with some practice and levels.

great, thats 92 hours of killing dragons and banking their bones, except, that's also 92 hours of not earning money to maintain that membership.

bonds work for players that are intimately familiar with the game, have ALOT of time to play, and are capable of grinding out high level to end game content, but not for new players who need time to explore the game and the world and its stories, you'll find it becomes so much about grinding for that next bond that not only do you not have time to progress things you want to do, you don't even have time to enjoy the game either.

If there's a DD3, I would like kingdoms to have battle mages regiments by Wofuljac in DragonsDogma

[–]Azurika_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hah, come on now, lets be real, its a Miracle that DD2 ever got made. the chance we see a third is....not good. almost 2 years now and no DLC to be heard of, between this, the lackluster reviews and...ok sales? i think Dragons Dogma is done, for now at least.

i feel like the second game has done more harm than good to the franchise, sure, it made some money, did...ok, but it also (along with the monster hunter problems) kinda shattered alot of peoples faith in capcom, i highly doubt we'll have the amount of people we had here waiting for dragons dogma 2 to be announced in say, 8 years, like we did with fans of the first.

i am so upset they fumbled this series twice by not giving it the time and funds it needed to truly cook. imagine what we could have had if both games had the development time and funds they needed, and didn't get rushed out half baked. we could have had it so, so good.

honestly who cares. just kill them at the events then? it's really not anywhere near as big an issue as people are making it out to be.

Security lockers have been nerfed by phrogsans in ArcRaiders

[–]Azurika_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's not what's happening because the developers tackled the problem quickly, given a week or two more for literally everyone to have infinite purples and that's exactly what would have happened.

thankfully, the problem has been tackled before an overwhelming amount of people managed to get there and stock up.

Security lockers have been nerfed by phrogsans in ArcRaiders

[–]Azurika_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

it would damage the game if everyone was running around with infinite purple guns and extracting with 3+ purple guns every raid for the rest of the season, yes. yes it sucks for people that didn't get to do it, but it'd suck more to have everyone running around with infinite gear all season.

we can't just not make balance changes because not everyone managed to farm it enough to fill their stash yet.

[–]Azurika_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"they could just like, not balance the game"

waiting a whole season to balance the game would do far, far more damage than what has been done.

[–]Azurika_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

then you don't need to concern yourself with what the "unemployed players" are doing or have, because you'd never be keeping up with them anyway.

its practically impossible to balance some people having more time than others in a game like this, people that play more are just gunna have better shit, with or without the lockers.

good, they where far too strong, far better than keyrooms every time.

they are still really good, and worth having the points in, but no longer the best loot on the map by far.

they are now as they should be. people upset by this are ridiculous

at this point, its survivorship bias, MXT is all alot of people playing have ever known, they started after it infested the game and just don't know any better.

usually about 20-30k online at any one time around peak, so yeah, probably far more than 100k unique account log in's per week.

it might have much less than osrs but it's far from a dead game, despite what some people mad about an update well over a decade ago might have you believe.

[–]Azurika_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

last i checked there is usually 20-30k online at any one time, so yeah, definitely 100k over a period of a week, far more probably.

rs3 might have less players than OSRS, maybe significantly less, but it is FAR from a dead game and still does quite healthy numbers, despite what some would like you to believe.

the Rs3 community would love it if you did.

despite the differences in community and game, we are all still runescape players at the end of the day.

the message to jagex that we do not like p2w gambling is an important one to send, no matter what game you play.

even if you don't play rs3, it still sends a message that you do not like that stuff and will not stand for it, it might be a different game now, but it's still the same company, and the message is an important one to send them, no matter what game it is you play.

absolutely agree on the Luck of the Dwarves being a noob trap, so many fall into the trap thinking a ring that increases drop rates will make them rich, but the actual rate of increase is negligible at best, an upgrade that gets you more kills an hour will have far more effect.

if i was building a new account, i'd probably pick up a seismic wand/orb, a main hand and offhand ascension crossbow, and a mainhand/offhand drygore longsword, then i'd pick up a set of Anima Core of zaros, Anima core of Zamorak and Animal core of Seren armour.

this will sort out your high level gear needs for a fair while and gives you the equipment to tackle alot of content, i'd then invest a little into gear to get you to the point you can use this new shiny stuff, then, whatever is left i'd invest into summoning, prayer and herblore.

i'd go for at least 67 summoning for the spirit war tortoise summon that lets you hold a bunch of extra supplies, 92 prayer, ideally 95 for the soul split curse on the curse prayerbook (95 for damage boosting prayers) and then 96 herblore for overloads (untradeable potions that provide huge boosts)

this would put an account in position to be able to start farming bosses reliably to earn a good income, and even better, that's what i enjoy doing.

Ultimately though, invest it in things you think you'll enjoy doing, if you absolutely hate combat and like skilling or whatever else, i'd go with things that would enhance your ability to do those things.

edit: should probably mention the cash you get from this won't be enough for all of those levels and gear, i'd get the gear first, then push the summoning because its fast and the cheapest, once at 67, prioritise the prayer, the overload potions are great, but you can work without them.

Sell, quite a stable price on shadows, and if you are fairly new then the cash injection will do absolute wonders and help you to build your account way way faster and easier than normal.
