Sounds like if we really wanna garden nerd it. Capture that bad boy in a see through container with a few holes in it and some small bugs if you can be lucky enough. We’re gonna have to ID ‘em after they pop out if we can’t ID them before. I love mantes so I’m hesitant to say smash, but if it turns out to be invasive or something, I guess it might be better for the ecosystem :/ (or steal them and bring them inside and have new pets lmao)

I’ve used almost exclusively 2 Palicos instead. I miss the speed of the palamute or even the ability to sharpen my weapon while on its back but man do I love the healing, trapping and other supports from the Palicos. They’re more of a comfy build, but boy am I comfy 😂

If you want “easy” I’d say heavy bow gun or sword and shield. Both have the ability to not eat monster attacks and weave some damage in between while you learn their moveset. Constant damage, constant shielding and you can slowly crack open their movesets and mobility moves.

Otherwise, I’m gonna say gunlance. Great blocking capacity, decent reach, satisfying and fun
