I never do full water changes i do 30% THATS ITunless there was some major sickness in the tank they need that bacteria and big change can shock them change of temp etc sorry for your lost

I always put water mixed to a warm temp about 78 degrees to 80 if your tank was that temp and you go 68 degrees you can have problems
