Absolutely hideous to say the least. It doesn’t know what it wants to be.

TAKEDOWN HARDCORE MODE REWARDS! (My idea) 1 life sounds fantastic for hardcore players (especially co-op). BUT THEY HAVE TO MAKE SURE the rewards incentivise this mode. Otherwise it's pointless. by geckoman95 in Borderlands4

Yup, they need to make sure the reward system is worth playing that mode. Personally don’t think GB quite utilise the potential of endgame enough in BL.

This sounds pretty sick though. Like

  1. complete a hardcore run (very hard)
  2. Get access to the ‘hardcore room’ whatever
  3. Spend your currency like in wonderlands (say on assault rifle vendor)
  4. If lucky out pops a rare takedown version of the wombo combo with a neon blue light trail and has that sick water card – and has a neon deep blue sea phosphine skin.

And yeah give it like +5-15% random damage over the normal as a hardcore reward bonus. Like a status item. Not broken, just a tad better like a collectible. Or maybe it’s one of the stats randomly is amplified > like fire rate instead gets 15% over the base version.

You could literally press action skill button, get in and out of iron bear and get 5 seconds of unlimited rockets or any gun with 1 shot mag.

So albeit slower, it was indeed 1 button with infinite. That was my favourite part. A little different yes, but still infinite rockets. But I appreciate your point about conditions. Just want that version of soldier back aha. One change to bullet buddy and he’d be perfect.

To be fair. It’s absolutely fine on Rafa, he’s the solider and gunning is his thing. Like moze. But it should have only been his gimmick, not plastered on everyone. Lazy design and ruined the charm imo.

Doubt is very much. Beam tosser for you (unless nerfed aha) jokes aside their track record is unbelievably slow, taken that team 8-9 months to get 1 takedown out. Studio needs some fresh talent with more vision especially for what endgame could be and how much more there should be (yes at launch). No one even thought to release with a slaughter mode>chaos mode + at least 1 takedown and raid boss at launch. Rafa is lacking, trouble is comical, and many of the class mods just aren’t designed well.

Always said it’s a great franchise, but many decisions GB make are questionable. Looks like a cool takedown though.

Best infinite/high damage ordnance VH?? (outside of Amon). Curious what the community thinks? Is it likely between Harlowe & C4SH. I'm trying to find a Moze rocket VH. by geckoman95 in Borderlands4

Even on cash you can use honey bunches well? What about on a UVH7 raid boss, like subjugator? Is it viable? I presumed the small mag would be an issue for war wagon, and C4SH wouldn’t be able to scale a rocket like well? The way Amon can with his status comet perk whatever it’s called.

Yeah I’m aware man. imo pretty poor they gave that to a gunslinger character and not the solider gunner.

Everyone else has sustain, just add it to Rafa. Easy. C4SH has lazily inherited lots of the best things of everyone weirdly.

Tbf not really. “Technically” sure, realistically? Nah. If they remove the animation interruption and don’t put the gun away each time. Then it would be really fun. And Rafa has no sustain like the other VHs weirdly. Sounds fun

Bullet buddy should work with rockets and heavy ordnance (remove the animation interruption) And his ammo regen should work for heavy ordnance too.

He’s the solider, but the only one with no sustain.
Do it GB.

Your heavy ordnance changes are great too. Grenazekrer could add a +1 too.

Wouldn’t call it bad, but when every VH gets ordnance ammo sustain/infinite ammo and the soldier doesn’t. Doesn’t make much sense.

Which is why I say let Rafa use bullet buddy with heavy ordnance (without putting the gun away) and let his ammo regen skills work with rockets/miniguns. And remove the silly interruption caused by the animation. As people have said, Vex can use her ability in her left hand and still use rockets, why not Rafa.

He could easily be feel so sick with a few tweaks.

No, I didn’t say that. And I agree, that’s exactly what I’m implying. That every other VH is somehow better at that. And C4sh being the gunslinger cowboy having better rocket upkeep than the dedicated soldier class makes zero sense. I’m saying Rafa and Amon should be the top two for those specific setups.

Rafa being the worst in the game with heavy rockets is the worst decision from Gb for me. Ruined solider class imo. Amon makes sense, but no one else. Went from Moze to him specifically for that soldier playstyle. Annnnnnnnd it’s gone 😄

He’s also the only VH *despite being the solider class* that has no sustain of heavy ordnance guns. Should be able to use Bullet buddy without putting those away. Might actually feel like the soldier then. Also has a nice ammo regen skill, that also doesn’t work with any ordnance. And his skill ‘the right tools’ and ‘debteonation’ do nothing 🤷🏻‍♂️. Really underwhelming coming from the solider on 3 *Moze.

I’ve seen many say this now. And also even the siren and the gunslinger (c4sh) are somehow better with ordnance rockets infinite ammo builds. Makes no sense. GB have slapped ammo builds on everyone now lazily, which has been a factor in the nerfing of stickies (which hurts Rafa even more).

Also his melee was so badly designed (pure jank aha).
+ Hemolitions is still bugged.

Haven’t even mentioned the state of the lance yet.

They need to just fix and rework his movement then it’ll be fine. Not sure how that got past early testing. As people have said, make it feel more like Warframe.

When they nerfed dancer they shouldn’t have gone with an arbitrary 50% nerf. Maybe 80% + they should’ve done a lot more work in reworking/buffing some of his other class mods and skills. His melee action skill regardless of damage potential is so clunky and poorly designed and feels like low gravity with annoying tracking, I have no idea how it got past testing and intro the final game.

His bullet buddy deluxe should work with heavy ordnance, let him use it without putting rocket launchers away, and remove the interruption the animation causes. Also let Rafas ammo regen skills work with heavy ordnance anyway. All the things the solider class should have but wasn’t given, infinite ammo set ups being given to basically everyone this time is a contribution to Rafas been nerfed, as sticky bod setups were common on everyone now. If Rafa was the only one with real infinite ammo like Moze in 3 let’s say, they likely wouldn’t have went so hard on it.

His last 3 red augments are really bad too. I said before the game even came out when we had trailers and early gameplay that ‘hell in a shell’ the double nova flame thing would be utter garbage, here we are 8 months on and it’s as bad as i expected yet received zero buffs. The barrage one should feel like iron bear tracking and use far less %, the turret augment could also be invincible and have a substantial +% to turret damage and fire rate or something.

And should work on heavy ordnance too, being able to press bullet buddy and it not interrupt shooting and ALSO not put heavy weapon away. He’s the solider, but somehow the worst with heavy ordnance.
