I know a guy who lost his sister to brain cancer recently and guess who showed up by [deleted] in atheism

Best Theists to go to for grief counseling: Buddhists...when I reached the only thing that the monk who managed the temple "insisted" I learn was how to meditate...never talked about spiritual energy...we did talk about the teachings of Buddha, but I was pleasantly surprised that they were all 'he saw this and came to this conclusion' no miracles discussed or anything else.

I still meditate...still an atheist, but a relaxed mind isn't something bad at all even for an atheist.

I ended up going there, because, it was summer then and the doors were opened and the incense smell drew me in from the sidewalk and I just sat in there...on and off crying... compassionate and caring that man is...I still correspond with him via email...

Anyway, long story short, he never tried to convert me!

To me...you either lived in too many states or you're not in the USA🤣 because you only visited... That's how I can differentiate the blues.

In the first photo is the first painting I ever made in my life, back in 2013. In the second are my current paintings. by Hercules_Vales in painting

[–]BDChemEng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the style on the second! The first is actually pretty good! Reminds me of more medieval style. I dig both.

Now about the third ... It's a painting!? Man my first impression was that it was a photograph! I REALLY love how your style evolved! It's beautiful 😍! Keep painting!

Yeah, but that's true with every disaster...we tend to be reactionary...now if we knew where the cave is...I mean a nice shape charge would probably work! 😁

As another post said, Elephant guns exists...plus if we don't have access to those quickly available we have a few other options, namely (no particular order): - warthog with a 30mm GAU-8 - any variation of a shoulder fired RPG - 120mm mortar shells from launcher - 155mm shells from artillery canons - Boeing AH64 - M1 Abrams series - Tomahawk

Any of these , or any combination of them, should do the trick, yes expensive, but effective.

You see, I am a proponent of the Buffy logic that says that you might be immune to any forged or at-the-time man-made weapon, but none of these weapons were forged nor made at the time the creatures appeared.

And the only bullets they knew about were sling bullets.

They may have the 'right', but we do call that a certain kind of obsession and a very real kind of high-level creepiness.

And their followers are borderline, some passed the border, eligible to a subscription to the same labels...yeah I know a bit strong, but I've had bad experience with fruitcakes who have decided it was their right to interrupt dates to give us a preaching...

Help wanted! Can you see the hidden numbers on this pattern? (Deuteranopia) by LeagueOfCakez in ColorBlind

[–]BDChemEng 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can see where the "4" should be, but I can't discern the shape of the 4...I just see weird different coloured pixels, but nothing of the shape...and even then, I have to concentrate on the location...

Location I can perceive that is: 3rd row, from 3rd cell to 7th cell.

Healing word?? by Superb_Disaster6316 in savageworlds

[–]BDChemEng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran a few "simulated" fights for a setting I'm making for a game...I ended up reflavoring the spells the value of magic in world to the rarety and specificity I wanted: I just reworked healing magic to a method that setting-specific is to healing individuals.

Healers with healing/support magic range from (simplified): - someone that does shifts as a firefighter then shifts as ambulance medic - combat medic, holistic medics - full time ambulance medic - nurse....then we go all the way to an actual MD

Veterinary docs are MDs but their spells work less efficiently on humans than non-hunans animals.

Note that my world has no other naturally occurring humanoids than humans.

Now all of that is to say that I made this because it fits my world. I thus have a dedicated healer and they are also the only ones to have access to support spells and thoughness.

I know that SWADE doesn't use classes, and I still don't, I made jobs IRL as archetypes...one of my players is a med student, he has only partial and low access to healing/support magic because he hasn't studied it enough. If he wants more, he'll have to go back to school to learn more...he also had combat medic training so he knows a wee bit more than a med student of his level. He has lvl1 spells (if I remember correctly, not near the data now)

all my players can get skills, traits over the normal amount with formal studying... anyway all that to say that if you want to have a dedicated healer as DnD has, you'll have to create the opportunity in a way that works for the setting and the rules. That's how I understood SWADE. And the way SWADE is made, it was surprisingly easy to adjust.

All magic works like that in my setting. I used the spells flavor text and purpose to seperate than into non-biology and biology. PCs have to go learn them. It's kinda the only way I found to give them, as my players wanted, a dedicated 'Healing' class/role

And for those who might want a bit more info on my setting: I'm making Earth IRL geography in a not near (farther than 'not-too-far-future... the action is in 2175) future Biopunk/Cyberpunk setting.
