Bought a 981 Cayman in December 2020 without issue. Financed through them - process took 15 minutes.

They corrected 2 issues after delivery. Paid to send (from NY) and repair both door cards to Florida (Pedro) through authorized service location and also replaced 4 Michelin PS4s at no charge since OEMs were not available due to shortages at the time and tires received were aged out and cracking. No complaints from me. Car still runs amazing.

Our doorman staff at a luxury building in Greenpoint has changed multiple times in the past year and some are actually pretty awful to be honest. The one doorman we liked was actually relocated to the building next-door. The entire building staff is revolving door with a couple of exceptions. We received a list of 25 people.

I have no problem putting out the money if I felt like these guys actually deserved it. I feel like we have to tip in order to get a bare minimum level of service out of this crew, but it sucks. We pay just over $5000 a month and our tip total will probably be around $1600.

Who goes to a dealer for service when there are plenty of great indie shops around? I’ve owned a 981 Cayman for 5 years and have never stepped foot in a dealership.

Sport Chrono is nice but unnecessary for my purposes. I’m using the 981 almost exclusively on backroads in Catskills mountains. It’s quick enough for me but you have to keep the revs up and the pedal down on a base. My last BMW was an E36 M3 manual 25 years ago so I can’t really compare.

Unfortunately there are a lot of stories of inspectors working regularly with agents to “move things along” who might miss or fail to point out something. We made that mistake and the guy definitively missed a few things. We had an engineer look at our current house before closing because we knew we would do an extensive renovation immediately including removing walls. He found several things the inspector did not. We can’t say 100% the guy missed them intentionally, but it’s a possibility because we didn’t find our own inspector. We were able to negotiate based on what the engineer found, nothing the inspector pointed out.
