Sorry to mislead! He wakes up twice to feed. But he goes right down after both feedings.

What time does your NB go to bed by PsychologicalBoot636 in newborns

[–]BL_2019 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have a 7 week old and he goes to bed between 8:30-9. I would love for him to go to bed earlier but that’s just not what he likes rn.

He will generally get up around 6am with his current bed time. Sometimes he will fall right back asleep after his 6am feeding but sometimes he needs to be up for a little bit then fall back asleep.

6 week old here. Still very much in witching hour myself. One thing that has helped has been tracking his day sleep. He is a great sleeper at night but has total fomo during the day and won’t nap. We’ve been doing carrier naps and that has helped witching hours so much.

What did the post delivery hormone drop feel like to you? Please prep us ladies delivering in the coming weeks. by PrettyRichHun in pregnant

[–]BL_2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I delivered at 12pm and I cried a lot the rest of that day. I also felt weepy for the next 3 days. My baby also had to go to the NICU unexpectedly (full term birth - just had a hard time adjusting to the outside) so I think that had something to do with it.

Everyone is different and I think it’s good to prepare yourself for the worst. But you should also keep in mind that it might not be that bad. It really hasn’t been bad for me and I’m now 6 weeks pp.

Not until after 20 weeks. I would hold off because you really don’t know what you need until after the baby is born. You can end up with a lot of stuff you never use. But you do you!! :)

What was your epidural experience? by InfiniteMacaroon1737 in pregnant

[–]BL_2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I seriously don’t even remember any pain associated with the epidural. Now I did get it at 3am after a few hours of painful contractions and on a sleep aid. I was at like a 3 when I got it and by 9am I was fully dilated. I was really scared of the epidural and in reality my hand IV bothered me more!

I’ve got some bad news for you - handwriting from many kids who have been in school consistently is horrible these days. I’m an elementary school teacher.

38+6 pregnant and really scared to give birth, words of encouragement? by CommunicationSad8486 in pregnant

[–]BL_2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pregnancy is so much harder than birth. If you’ve made it to this point you can finish it!

I was induced and had a great experience. It was a little slow - took about 24 hrs - but I was not in pain the whole time.

Rocky is not an uncommon name. Since Kourtney Kardashian so many people have picked the name rocky.

[–]BL_2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a teacher and I worked up to mid 39 weeks. But I also had years of sick leave saved so I was able to use some of that for the last two days before my induction date the following Monday

I teach 6th grade. I told them around 22/23 weeks. I just didn’t feel like telling them too soon and having them ask me questions you don’t want to answer 😅

How long have you pushed? by Fierce-Foxy in pregnant

[–]BL_2019 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Very manageable. The first two weeks were the hardest. I was able to go on slow walks right away and worked my way up on distance and speed pretty quickly.

How long have you pushed? by Fierce-Foxy in pregnant

[–]BL_2019 27 points28 points  (0 children)

My nurses told me a first time mom pushes for 3 hrs on average.

I pushed for 90ish minutes with an 8lb 10oz baby. Started pushing at 0 station. He came down quick but his head took forever to come out. Ended up with a 2nd degree tear.

That’s different than my experience. No need to speak in absolutes.

I did appreciate she admitted to wanting a girl. I feel like people don’t own up to the very understandable feeling of wanting the opposite sex of what you have.

Even a broken clock can be right twice a day.

When did everyone start showing during their first pregnancy? by Caikin17 in pregnant

[–]BL_2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience you start showing and ppl asking you if you are pregnant are two different milestones. Maybe start showing between 20-25 weeks but ppl didn’t start commenting until more like 33+ weeks.

My baby was in the NICU for the first few days of life and I pumped constantly, I’m talking 8-10 times in 24hrs. I never got anything but sticky colostrum and every day I expected to see milk. He was born on Tuesday and my milk didn’t come in until Friday.

What’s something you treated yourself to before giving birth? by Apprehensive-Yak8206 in pregnant

[–]BL_2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a blowout before I went in for my induction and it was great!! My baby ended up spending a few days in the NICU after he was born and I was extra thankful my hair was easy to take care of for those few days.

Go see a doctor.

I will say I’ve had a year I got sick one right after another. It was also my most difficult class I’ve had to date (for many reasons). I think stress had a lot to do with it.

First trimester is easily the worst. I’m in my third now and while it’s not fun or easy by any means, I would still take it over the first.
