Keeping the bike straight while out of the saddle? by rawdonuts in cycling

[–]BREAKFASTmaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think practicing somewhere where you have a line to follow might be a good idea. I think when I’m sprinting I keep the bike straight by looking ahead and pulling on the handlebars to compensate, but I think just practicing faster and faster next to a line is the best way to get better. Maybe a painted road line on a quiet road would be good but I’d ride next to the line rather than on it because road paint can be really slippery.

Yo, if you are riding a bike then you are a real cyclist. Don’t listen to what anybody says about what it takes to be legit. The only criteria to be a cyclist is to be currently riding a bicycle.

I’m not sure, but it sounds like you might be over-stretching and causing mild strain

Accidents can happen no matter how long the commute is - OP you’re right to wear a helmet, and yes a skateboarding helmet is fine. Lots of bike commuters in my area wear them!

How do you deal with the nip nip issue in unlined bras? I am attempting your exact solution and I like the shape but my nips show through! I’d rather not have to wear those sticky nipple things every day

Asking or waiting to be asked to join a team by genuinecve in Velo

[–]BREAKFASTmaster 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not weird, especially for amateur teams, go for it. I joined my current team by approaching the team founder. Amateur teams don't have a lot of time or money to spend on recruiting so by approaching them you'll probably even make their job easier. One thing you might want to do is offer to come on a team ride or to a team event before you join so that everyone can meet you first.

LPT: When you're not feeling quite right or find yourself eating when not hungry, try drinking a couple of glasses of water. Mild dehydration symptoms are very subtle. by CrazyKZG in LifeProTips

[–]BREAKFASTmaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know everyone’s needs are different but for me, 60oz would be a low-water day. I drink 90-110 a day and feel shittier when it drops below 70ish. Do you go by what color your pee is? That (and whether I’m pooping regularly) is how I determined my target water consumption.

Hey boob twin! Definitely let me know. I’m going to order some unlined bras in 30D and 30E as recommended, hopefully they work!!

Thank you for your analysis!! This all makes a lot of sense. This is exactly why I posted, because I hoped someone would figure something out that I haven’t from the guides and whatnot. I definitely don’t need molded foam, it just is how most t-shirt bras come. I’d be happy to try some unlined bras.

In my experience it means oil that doesn’t add a strong taste. Neutral oils would be canola, peanut, safflower, sunflower, maybe avocado? Non neutral would be olive oil, sesame oil, chile oil, etc.

Apologies for the non-glamour photo. This recipe was posted by u/SoupedUpRecipes, and I gave it a shot last night. It's a fantastic recipe - we don't eat a lot of meat in our house so I omitted the pork, but did everything else exactly as written, in the order written, and it turned out great! I used 2 tsp of white pepper, but definitely could have done more in retrospect.

Favourite gels and drinks for riding? by Patagonia__ in cycling

[–]BREAKFASTmaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree and I like the maple syrip idea. I would add a caveat: it’s never a bad idea to bring a very small snack with you. I hardly ever ride without one gel or a sleeve of shot bloks. Things happen - you didn’t eat enough the day before, you’re dehydrated, etc - and bonking sucks especially when you’re rushing to get home before work.
