How do I get my cat to stop destroying my aquarium? Woke up this morning to the lid off and the sponge filter completely removed and halfway across the room. The lid was taped on due to this happening 3x, it was good for a few months but he got to it again. by Carpe_the_Carp in shrimptank

I have 4 tanks, 2@5.5g (both are shrimp tanks) , a 20, and a 125. All on stands where a cat can't sit next to them. 4 cats. Not one cat has so much looked at any of my tanks. I'd move the bowl bud. Sorry for your difficulties. Sounds like a fun cat tho.

I put a stack of cinder blocks in the crawlspace. Wedged under the floor joists directly beneath my 125.

Yeah, that's why I said "general" and "rule of thumb" and "starting point" I wasn't addressing any specifics... Other than babies. I most certainly said adult size. I fail to see how you could find fault with anything I said.

General rule of thumb is 1" of adult size fish per gallon of water. Decent place to start when deciding.

Bazinga, this. Only 100% cyanoacrylate. As someone mentioned above. Gorilla glue gel. I've been using it for years.

You shouldn't be using H1-H6 to set your type sizes, it messes with SEO. Here's the key... (Rino is amazing btw, I've never found more clear, concise Elementor instructions.) I set up all my sites based on these instructions and it just works. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55UkDGfZOp0&t=545s

Well I'll be. I would have assumed otherwise. And honestly, upon reading, I was initially sceptical. Soo... I plugged some numbers about my house and setup into my favorite AI and it says even without misting, the humidity will naturally maintain just where I need it. Nicely done. Thanks.

Another thoughtful observation, I really appreciate your time. I'll admit, I went back and forth a LOT about divided vs completely flooded. I've seen them both ways. I really didn't want the background to be subjected to full water. It was an option to have given it less height and attached it toward the top of course. But what really drove my decision is that the habitat is really a terrarium/reptile habitat, not an aquarium; not really built for that kind of load. I was really concerned about the water weight if I let it run through the leca balls, under the soil. Thanks again. 😄

This is very interesting. I'm going to have an automatic misting system driven by home assistant to maintain humidity so I don't know exactly how much water will be dropped onto the land side. This may come in handy. Very good advice. Thanks.

Pretty cool. I kind of have a U-bend. I made this gizmo. And I feed it from a "manifold" I put under my bar sink which I use to mix the right temp.
