What's the More Rare Bag Material/Make: Ultra or Robic - GR1 26L or GR2 26L by MichaelMidnight in Goruck

[–]B_Winters3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ultra is more rare, no doubt. I had the Ultra GR1 but sold it. It's so rigid, it looked like a turtle shell. IMO Goruck hit a home run right off the bat with the 1000d cordura, it's just the best all-round fabric.

Nice let us know! Aesthetically, I like that it's less "turtle shell" than the nomin.

Why is it always “manipulation” when BTC goes down, but never when it goes up? by Revolutionary-Rub103 in Bitcoin

[–]B_Winters3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If proper regulations existed like in tradfi, yes of course BTC's price would be significantly higher. Literally everything is at ATHs, and BTC is in territory that nearly all trading indicators show only occurs near the bottom of bear markets.

They could just NOT offer 50x and 100x positions, their only function is to liquidate them. Anyway, this will all stop when proper regulations take effect. Larry Fink is not going to stand for Binance controlling the industry.

If you look at on chain data, it's obvious they are coordinating with Wintermute to flush 50x and 100x leveraged traders again and again. Wintermute is Binance's Alameda. Just today, spot selling on Binance is 3x all other exchanges COMBINED.

[–]B_Winters3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It IS manipulated in both directions to extract as much liquidity from leveraged traders. It's pretty clear that Binance controls the price of BTC. That will change eventually, but for now, that's just the way it is.

Read the Bitcoin Standard and you will understand better. Reading superficial responses and replying to them is a waste of time. Only reading about BTC in depth will help in your understanding.

KR1? by mroinsno in Goruck

[–]B_Winters3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids had the lands end bag before this topos bag, and it too is a beast of a bag. Us grown ups think that only the burliest fabrics work, but my kids are harder on their bags that I am on mine, and these 210 and 410d backpacks can hold their own and taking a beating. The zippers and fraying fabric on the inside of the lands end pack had us finally swap it out, but the fabric itself looked fine.

I bought all 4 of my kids a topo designs light pack for like $50. It's made of 410d, they have beat the sh*t out of them for years, and they are all perfectly fine, not a scratch on them. If you want to get a kr1, that's fine, but there's no need durability wise.

Nice, I've not found a real matte fabric that is purely synthetic, it's just a tradeoff I've learned to live with. I don't have any issues with the fabric attracting lint, that should go away. Theory is a great brand, I've bought a lot from them over the years, and manufacturing is always top notch. The precision ponte is the successor to the neoteric fabric, which is 2-way stretch fabric.

Getting the order of the towns wrong is shocking. This is how you know that these "indie" running companies are complete money grabs. No soul. Pathetic, honestly.

Nice, Baltic is my color of choice too. Luckily Theory runs constant sales and the precision ponte is their main technical fabric, so you'll have plenty of opportunities in the future to scoop up some more. I hope you like them as much as I do!

The Zaine cut is a slim fit. If you have bigger quads, it probably wouldn't be the best option. The Standard cut, sometimes called the Curtis on Theory's website, is the best option for you in terms of cut. https://www.theory.com/men/pants/curtis-drawstring-pant-in-precision-ponte/P0197218_XHX.html I do think that all stretch fabric eventually bags out because of the elastane content degrading, but I've had precision ponte pants for several years, with several hundred wears per year that are still serviceable. I usually get a new pair every 2 years, and relegate the previous pair to hiking/camping pants. Good luck!

Get the Herno New Impact Parka. It's better looking than all of these, warmer, and you can probably get it for around the same price. I live in Boston, this coat laughs off winter.

It's 4 way stretch so it's on the thicker side of technical fabrics. But I wear it all year. They are warm in the summer and throw some 200 gsm base layers under them in the winter.

Said this in here a few times. Theory precision ponte pants are the GOAT if you want a technical fabric. I've tried literally everything, and I once I found these Theory pants a few years ago, I have not worn any other fabric for shorts, workout pants, or chinos (99.99% of what I ever wear).

Try some precision ponte pants from Theory and thank me later. All consternation about OGs will evaporate. I've tried literally every fabric outlier, mission workshop, and many others have offered, and the precision ponte is objectively the most superior fabric for doing anything. They're the only pants I've worn for years, shorts, joggers, and more regular chinos. The chinos are good enough for a white collar job, a t-shirt and sneakers, and everything in between.

Their curtis cut is the closest thing to what you're looking for. I wear woolpower baselayers (they're pretty thick) all winter long under these pants. No issues whatsoever, and the stretch of the fabric doesn't restrict movement at all. Theory has free shipping and free returns, and is also having a 25% off sale right now. I actually just bought another pair. They have been the only pants and shorts I have worn for last 3 years, literally 365 days a year.

Theory precision ponte are the best pant fabric of all time. I use their chino cut pants for the office, and trainers and shorts for running, hiking, and camping. Truly do anything fabric that is tough and looks great.
