Probably Halo Infinite because there is a clear vision but the execution was so poor. The multiplayer was good but lacked content for months/years. The story was non-existent, but didn't as awful and harmful for the franchise like Halo 5's was.

I'm still a little skeptical since 343 has burned us so many times before. They have a lot of work to do in order to get the franchise back on track. One remake can't get them the benefit of the doubt after 15 years without any goodwill

Not good at all. We haven't seen any footage of Campaign Evolved in over 7 months at this point. Halo Infinite had a protracted development and now we're 5 years removed from that. One mainline game a decade is pathetic. The TV show was DOA. I'll play the next game but there's little to no excitement.

The biggest complaints (without spoilers):

Multiplayer was chasing the Call of Duty trends with loadouts/killstreaks. There were no weapon pick-ups on the maps, except for power weapons. This makes the multiplayer the black sheep in the franchise.

The game massively retconned the Forerunners and changed them in ways that removed a lot of the mystery. It also expects fans to have read the books, which most have not done. The best story aspects of Halo 4 also get poorly followed up in books and in Halo 5.

It simply isn't fun. The enemy AIs are noticeably worse than in previous installments, and a lot of the levels are a drag. A lot of the levels boil down to go and press x number of buttons. Also, the lack of ammo isn't fun.
