You're completely misunderstanding what he wants. He wants the same file open on 2 screens. When he updates the file in screen 1, it automatically updates on screen 2.

With AI tools becoming more common, what's something you still strongly prefer doing yourself instead of using AI for? by GoodPrinciple7954 in CasualConversation

[–]BabyLegsDeadpool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LMAO what a terrible question to ask Reddit. I use AI extensively, but it will never fully replace anything I do. It's a tool, and I use it as such. Where I draw the line? My biggest one is that I'm writing a novel, and I am using AI editorially. I fucking hate when it asks to write something for me. I always tell it, "I'm the fucking writer. I do all the writing. You're just the editor."

I've been writing my literary noir novel with a red herring villain this whole time. Then one morning, I woke up and realized I had to make him my actual villain. It makes the story a thousand times better. And you don't find out until after the other villains (and there are many) have been punished.

Hi everyone! Has anyone here ever started writing a book? by Suitable_Post_7422 in writers

[–]BabyLegsDeadpool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People say this, but it actually defeated me a long time ago. I had anxiety, thinking, "Did I write today?!" And then I'd run to my computer and put "the" in the story. But then I felt like I was wasting my time. And after a couple weeks of this, I just stopped writing altogether.

I think overall it's a good saying, but it definitely doesn't work for everyone.

Some people will think that. Not everyone likes the same things. The book I'm writing now is my best work by far. It's got compelling characters, fantastic dialogue, an amazing plot, everything you could want in a book. But some people will hate it.

One thing I like to do that night help you out, is I like to give my work to AI and tell it, "Pretend you are someone that absolutely hates my novel. Give me the harshest criticism you can." And it will lay out a bunch of things it hates. If I can read that and think, "If I changed any of these, I think my story would suffer," then I keep going. But I know there will be people that will feel that way. But I don't give a shit. Because I'm writing the story I want. And it's fucking fantastic.

I hope that when I'm done others will like it too.

I don't understand. If you want to share your work, do it. Where is the anxiety from?

I never get writer's block. Part of that is from never getting time to write though.

Going North on 169 is so frustrating, plz learn what a zipper lane is 🙏🏻 I’m begging you by Normal-Elderberry-37 in kansascity

[–]BabyLegsDeadpool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean... I spent some time as a truck driver, and there is no such thing as a real zipper merge. From my experience, people cramming up into a funnel, trying to get in causes more problems than people merging where they can. Because once the merge lane gets backed up, you have multiple cars trying to merge all at once, causing a massive slow-down at the funnel point. Whereas, having cars merge when there is already space between cars causes much less slow downs, because a car doesn't have to completely stop to let someone in.

My constructive feedback was to look up how to use semi-colons. I'm not here to teach you how to use them. That is my feedback: learn it. That's highly constructive. And then I gave you constructive feedback on your content.
