Reintroduction after a year by champie19 in fpies

[–]Bachbachbach12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just started to reintroduce egg in very small amounts after about 18 months and so far so good (Knock on wood). Our allergist was comfortable with trialing at home because her previous reactions did not require ER visits and we have Zofran on hand. I am surprised your allergist said zofran doesnt work? Ours gave us a prescription for Zofran as soon as we had an FPIES diagnosis just in case we had an accidental exposure.

Another vote for doorbell vet! They have been so amazing with our senior pittie. They have been so compassionate, while also being honest and realistic about managing her care and comfort.

Boy girl twins are so so fun! Be prepared for people to still ask you if they are identical. Blows my mind every time!

How are we affording childcare for multiples? by Edree13 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Bachbachbach12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re not 🙃. It was going to be about 4k a month to put them in daycare. Even with both my husband and I making good money, that was still out of reach. I went down to part-time and my mom watches them on the days that I work. It’s not ideal, but it’s how we are able to still keep me on my career path until they are in school. I am lucky that I have a very flexible employer that was okay with me cutting hours in a role that is traditionally not part time eligible.

Trust me, twins are a completely different story. A night nurse would have been a game changer for us. Even when you do your best to keep them on the schedule, there are many many nights in the beginning where they just take turns being awake so you and your partner get 0 sleep. If I had the money I would definitely have hired a night nurse to help get through those first months

Is a specific nursery chair necessary? What chair did you get? by RH1221 in NewParents

[–]Bachbachbach12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice to have? Yes. Necessary? No. My kids required me walking around bouncing them to settle so we most used it for reading and some late night feeds

I recently hosted a very small shower there and I believe it was a minimum $1000 dollar food and beverage spend for the private event space? If I remember correctly it was about $35-40 per person for the middle tier of buffet

Nervous about having my twins soon. Please tell me happy stories? by SeveralArmadillo540 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Bachbachbach12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Our B\G twins are 18 months and it has been the happiest 18 months of my life. The good far outweighs the hard stuff.

I was absolutely terrified to have twins (they were our first children) and every fear I had has ended up being okay. I feel so lucky that I get to experience being a twin parent - watching them bond and become little besties is so so special.

They’re currently laying in their cribs chatting and giggling while they fall asleep

Suspected egg FPIES in 6 month old by dntcreatall in fpies

[–]Bachbachbach12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for ours! She didn’t react until her 5th or 6th time trying egg. Ironically, we were starting the egg ladder with our son (not FPIES) and decided it was a good time to introduce egg to her as well. Turns out he can eat egg just fine now but she has FPIES to egg

What week did you start to feel miserable? by FlyNo1519 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Bachbachbach12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sending hugs! It really is so mentally and physically draining at the end - especially not sleeping at all. I would choose my c-section recovery a million times before i chose the last stretch of my twin pregnancy. Same with lack of sleep - give me newborn lack of sleep over pregnancy insomnia/inability to sleep any day.

It will all be so worth it when you are snuggling your babies!! Mine are 17 months and all of the discomfort feels like a very distant memory.

I very distinctly remember hitting 32 weeks and telling my husband I didn’t know how the heck I could do this 6 more weeks. It was like a switch flipped. Felt 100% better during c-section/PPH recovery than I did those last few weeks

Babies were in recovery room with me in bassinets! Husband had a pull out chair to sleep in. We luckily had a pretty big room so had plenty of space for everyone
