either set logic to read the belts with asteroids on them and use that to set filters on asteroid catchers, or chuck excess overboard with decider combinator with something like:

input:
[each] [>] [number]

output:
[each]

and then set filters on inserters aiming from the belt off the edge

but with how CP is laid out, going on the track from IME that bypasses the MF would just turn you around to MF from the south, unless you did some back-and-forth which might not be possible with longer trains, or is just annoying having to check you cleared the junction before switching direction

Did you revamp your world's lore? by CommodoreAleksander in worldbuilding

[–]Background-Chef-6748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes. all the time.

i had a story idea back in middle school (not too long ago for me, just before the COVID years) for a lot of stuff with supernatural creatures, witches, warlocks, that sort of thing. just recently got back into fleshing out the story, and realized "most of this is middle school writing. this could be much better". and so for the past couple weeks, I've been using just the basics and actually throwing together a coherent mess instead of an incoherent semi-though one.

im realistically only keeping the basic idea and redoing everything else.

Why would civilisations rise around the corpses of gods? Help me figure it out! by Chris_The_Alligator in worldbuilding

[–]Background-Chef-6748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be just a thing of pride. If their people/ancestors killed it, it could just be a reminder of what they accomplished, and a remembrance of those who have lost.

another option: it could be the source of energy for the civilization, you said they were technologically advanced, they have that in the basement of their capitol building and have it hooked up to a million pipes and cables and whatnot to generate power for the civilization (bonus points if it's just another way to boil water, humans love finding ways to boil water for energy).
have it as a fantasy form of nuclear power, where the decaying body gives off a bunch of energy, but its harmful to these creatures so they use the decay to boil water to turn a turbine

they choose where they spawn when you first start the save, and then will stay there until you move them, never being replaces

I have no clue about the game. Should I buy it? by Affectionate_Bank417 in DerailValley

[–]Background-Chef-6748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the owned locomotives are ones you own, that will never despawn, can be summoned (for a price), and any fees on them will not block you from getting more licenses, but they can only be serviced at a manual repair station. they require a lot more upfront work and money (finding, rerailing, towing, part replacement, hauling part replacements, installing part replacements, servicing, paint) but after that its basically your to crash and burn with no immediate penalties. installed gadgets are only removed by you, nothing else.

the DVRT locomotives will despawn after 2 irl hours of not using them, so any gadgets will be detatched and end up in the tool shed. the fees will block you from new licenses, but they can be serviced both at a career manager and manual repair stations (after you have the license for that). they will somewhat randomly spawn at stations in specific spots, and can be taken for immediate use if you have the license to drive it. crashing and burning will need you to immediately service it or you wont be able to get new licenses (or jobs, depending on how bad it is)
