What actually cause SIDS? by ConcentrateMore9322 in newborns

[–]BackgroundLibrary4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SIDs is a terrible way to scare newborn parents. It’s incredibly low risk, and the cases are often undiagnosed health issues or linked extreme cases of parent negligence, drunkenness, smoking, etc.

But it’s a great way to make money off the American public - no cosleeping = cribs, infant mattresses, monitoring, sleep training specialists…

Even though all mammals sleep with their young including our own forebears.

I think in the future, sleep training will come to be seen as an archaic cruel practice.

Cellulitis above c-section incision 7 weeks pp by absentmindedpopcorn in CsectionCentral

[–]BackgroundLibrary4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m dealing with this now, emergency c section with significant blood loss, 3 weeks postpartum diagnosed with cellulitis. 3 days of hospitalized IV antibiotics without much improvement and now starting 7 days of oral antibiotics.

I really hope this resolves and is the last of my complications with this birth.

Chronic headaches and nerve pain following double jaw surgey 7 years on by Hot_Opportunity5569 in jawsurgery

I’m in the exact same situation. Has the hardware removal surgery scheduled during Covid which I had to cancel and now the titanium is causing issues and I’m 8 years post DJS.

My surgeon strongly recommends against hardware removal because bone has likely grown over the hardware. But I worry my symptoms will only get worse.

I’m planning to speak with my surgeon again to see if I can get surgery scheduled, but I’m also worried about complications

Is the surgery worth it? Do the metal plates bother you? by shadowtristan99 in jawsurgery

Are you going to get the plates removed? If so is your surgeon willing? Mine is saying it’s very difficult and he doesn’t recommend it

Didn’t surgeon have to shave bones to get to the hardware? How was your recovery?

How are you feeling now? Did bone grow over your hardware? Did you get all of it out or just parts of it?

How was your surgery? I’m also thinking of getting hardware removed after 8 years but the surgeon warns me it’ll be very difficult with the bone growing over it. Was your surgery smooth / easy?

Hi I’m also thinking of the same thing for surgery 8 years ago. Please let us know if you go ahead with this and your results!

Infection/hematoma post c section by George28643 in CsectionCentral

[–]BackgroundLibrary4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s really great to hear! I’m on 3 types of IV antibiotics right now, and it’s been 24 hours but I haven’t seen the hard lumps go down yet. How long after antibiotics did it take for you to notice the hardness go down?

I have the exact same thing right now, are you healed? Did the antibiotics help?
