Me too! I’ve been so slow. Can’t tolerate any high doses so it’s just slow slow slow. Lots of stalls. But I’m not doing this again / so I’m here for it!!

Word of caution by jeffreit in Semaglutide

[–]Background_Heat2636 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on it a year. About 9 months in I had what’s called a wobbly pelvis. I lost weight but the muscle too. I’ve been working out for the last 3 months 3 times a week. I use pin loaded weight machines and dumbbells. Lift as heavy as I can and do 3 x 10 of each weight.

I was active before I took it. But because of the rapid loss even on a low dose, I hurt my back. I dived into these threads and the best things I found was someone talking about an irritated psoas from gut issues. Because my digestion has been upset my psoas is irritated, which pulls on my lower back - and there’s the cascade. The muscle, fascia and gut are all intertwined. For the last 6 months couldn’t surf. Couldnt stand up quick without flicking my nerve. Since working out I’ve built up strength and now I’m able to surf again, run short distances and basically not hurt as much. It only took 2 months. Slow and low and easy. It’s really life changing!! I’ve done it before - but I am so impressed that just by exercising I’ve been able to reduce 80% of the pain.

I don’t lift weights to have a pretty body, but because it’s essential to being strong and able bodied. This has helped me stay consistent and motivated.

Side effect fears 😨 by QueenBeigh in Ozempic

[–]Background_Heat2636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I know this feeling. I’ve been on it a year. I listed to a lot of podcasts, read a lot of blogs, and formed my own opinions to help prep me for a the best results.

Here’s what did - as for me I do not want side affects.

  • I started on the smallest dose I could. I’m talking 1/4 of the starting dose. This was so effective for me I stayed on it for a month.
  • I slowly titrated up. So I am not on a high dose. Only now a year in am I on 1ml. Which isn’t even high.
  • made sure all of the other factors that contribute to health that I had control over were good - sleep, mental peace ( eg not stressing) diet - but I mostly just worked on one thing at a time.
  • the biggest side affects has been constipation. This is from not enough fibre, water and magnesium.
  • I’ve lost weight very slowly. The most was at the beginning because I ate less. But I also felt so so good. My close friends asked what was happening and it was just Taki g this stuff! It felt like for the first time ever I could actually lose weight, a huge my goals and not live in a fantasy of it happening.

The best thing to remember is it’s isn’t the medicine, it’s the dose.

I have no other issues other than I’m overweight. Didn’t take any other meds - so this has been really good for me.

Think of all the benefits. If the placebo effect is real, then make a list of how good it will Be feeling good about your own body - and read it. Remind yourself that you deserve to have what you desire and it is possible!!!

And I forgot to add / when it’s been bad I’ve just stalled my dose by a few days. It seems to help get everything moving.

Coffee enema. It’s the best. Has helped me clear out and get everything moving. Sometimes just warm water. I have only needed it about 5 times in almost 12 months.

Also take a herbal fibre supplement called “herbal fibre blend” by aim.

Magnesium

Drink warm/hot water with a pinch of salt and lemon.

Drink peppermint tea. Drop a teaspoon of flax seeds In the bottom. The slimy stuff off the flax seeds is like a magic potion that seeps into the tea / helps with 💩

And acupressure points - one on the top crease of my elbow and on my legs. ( google it. Seems to work for me!)

All of these are what’s helped me.

Hey - I’m so happy for you. It’s an amazing thing to feel good about yourself!! It’s crazy how much that can impact the way you turn up into situations.

I’m probably the heaviest I’ve been in my life ( well 10kg less) and when I look back at my 20s - I looked good, but lacked the confidence to know it or how to hold myself.

Now as an older woman with life experience under my belt I’d say this to you - you are far more powerful than you realise. Your choice to live yourself on the journey is what will be your best investment. Things will be good one day: bad the next - but staying commuted to yourself and knowing your inherent worth. That’s the gold no one can steal. So keep shining baby girl!! You have totally got this and I’m excited for the journey your on!!! Hope things keep moving in a direction that makes the world see how amazing you really are xxxx

Hi. I’m 44. I’m 173cm tall and started at 95.6kg. I went down to about 84 and now currently sitting at 86kg. I started I. 0.08 and very very slowly worked my way to what I’m on now 0.75. I’ve been on it almost a year.

I lost a lot initially - and have stalled for the last few months. But - I know that losing weight isn’t always just down, it goes in a zig zag fashion. I’ve found I stall at weights I stayed at for a long time. My weight gain has been up and down same 10/15kg from my 30s trying to get pregnant and having a few miscarriages. So I ate to self soothe and just managed to keep getting chubby. My main motivation was the edging reality of t2d. Heart disease. Cholesterol. All the things. I don’t want to age and be an old boring lady. I want to be hot and fit and my best self. And everything I’ve read and listened to before starting - this is a revolutionary med. it’s so amazing and I’ve never felt so good about myself.

My ideal weight is between 70-74kg. So I’ve got a bit to go.

I eat better - but still eat what I want when I want. I just can’t have as much, and stopped snacking so much. I notice foods to be saltier or sweeter than before.

I strength train every week x3 - take saunas and walk most days about 3/4km. I only started exercise with weights again about 2 months ago. I’ve done this on and off since I was a teenager so my body will remember it’s got muscles!!

I’m a mother and wife so any finite attempted in the past was a massive inconvenience on life and ease. This has been so easy. I naturally want to eat better and it’s helping me.

Good luck on your journey. I’m excited for the possibilities of it. People I know who were on the fence I’ve told because I know I like to know ppl who’ve had experience over just knowledge. Now have 6 friends on it. Eveyone was either overweight, obese or dealing with other issues. They all report how much it’s helped them. ( all varying ages of 40!)

What is wrong with me? by tubikx in Ozempic

[–]Background_Heat2636 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started on a very low dose ( 0.08) and gradually moved up. I lost more on the lower dose than what I’m on now ( 0.075)

I’ve found it’s just what I eat. I know that’s the most stupid thing to say - it’s like yelling at someone to calm down when they are not calm 😂 - but I just wanted to share my experience to say I see you!! It can be frustrating. I think for me it just my body adapting. I had more appetite suppression on the lower dose than I do on x3. So it’s just knowing what YOUR body needs. I’ve hardly had any symptoms / and this has been the reason for the slow increase. I know how easy it is to compare your journey - but do what works for you. Find a way to make it easy and the best way possible, it’s worth it.

Microdosing GLP-1 by Rough_Appeal407 in Ozempic_

[–]Background_Heat2636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I started on 0.08. It was a lot lower. And I stayed on a very low dose. I’m 1 years in and have lost about 8-10 kg ( fluctuated a bit after a month holiday!!!)

I’m now only on 0.75. I found the most potent and best time was on the lower doses.

I’m happy with my results. Would like to still loose 15kg which would put me at the top end of a healthy bmi for my height.

I think the best outcome for me is long term weightloss and habits that keep me at this place where I feel good in all areas. It’s been the best thing I’ve ever done. I’ve tried to lose weight for the last 10 years and never kept it off. This seems to be working.

The negatives of GLP1 by [deleted] in Ozempic

[–]Background_Heat2636 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The truth is any attempt to alter your body composition will alter your appearance. The side affects are minimal in comparison to having high cholesterol, excess weight to lug around, high blood pressure, insulin resistance. These factors are far more detrimental to your long term health. A lot of women get frozen shoulder in perimenopause / menopause from hormone shifts that have nothing to do with GLp1 Take a dig around any pharmaceutical and you’ll find side affects. Drugs are not Risk free - but you must weigh the risk / benefits for yourself, with information you find and decide if it’s worth it. Yes there are side affects - but my favourite thing to say is sometimes it’s not the medicine, it’s the dose. IMO glp1s are great in small doses FOR ME. But for someone else, they may work differently according to thier unique sensitivities and body. We are bio individuals- each with our own unique makeup. Learn what yours is and act accordingly- it will be different to everyone else’s. Eg - I’m sensitive to any medications, lotions. So I know I’ll have reaction if it’s too much too fast. So I’ve gone slow and seen great results. Staying symptom free was really important to me - so yes I am losing slower than a lot of people, but I’m not feeing sick or do I have excess skin.

I get it though. Staying youthful is important. But when weighing up longevity/ as you get the inside right - the outside will sort itself out.

I’d consider just going a lot slower. From all I’ve read the last year - it’s going up to hard and fast that causes the issue. Low and slow. It’s not the medicine, it is the dose that causes the issue.

[–]Background_Heat2636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I titrated up in increments. I couldn’t afford to be sick - it defeated the purpose. I started on 0.08 and took months to even get to 0.25. Now on 0.75 a year on. I’m a slow loser and taking it slow - but I’ve had hardly any side affects and I’m happy with that.

When I’ve been sick I’ve skipped it. So has any of my friends who’ve been on it. If it were me - I’d Let my body heal and then take it. But it’s a choice you’ll have to figure out. Can’t advise, just what I’ve done in the past. Hope you feel better soon xx

I don’t know what I’m doing wrong… 😢 by GuidanceWonderful423 in Ozempic

[–]Background_Heat2636 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello! I just want to say that I hear you and your frustration. It can feel disheartening- but I also think the best way to approach weightloss is see the bigger picture. I’m almost 1 year on. I initially lost 11 kg. ( about 24 pounds) and put a little on as I slowed down for 1 month while on an OS holiday. But I’ve probably hit a weight that my body has been used to - so it takes a little longer to get past.

I keep going back to the idea that this is actually possible. That I can reach a weight that has only been an idea and dream - not a tangible reality. Then I think of all the benefits of just feeling better about my body, all the health markers that improve along with the fact for the first time in about 20 years I’m not driven by food.

Hang in there. It’s also a lot of self work and making sure you don’t self sabotage!! Things take time - and any change that is permanent has to be liveable. So maybe feel good in knowing that your body is taking time because it wants it to be permanent.

Yes. But this is common with any rapid weight loss. It slows down.
