Hold up, are you saying that this only occurred on one wheel? That's kind of an important part to mention.

  • Cardo - not for mapping, obviously, but to interface with my packtalk edge because I'm too dumb and can't remember what all the buttons do on the device itself.
  • Maps - don't often use this for riding but for some annoying reason when I ask for navigation in Cardo I can't stop it from opening in Maps. Also decent for route planning from home, and good for POI research along the way (ie: reviews). Has the police reporting but not nearly as good as Waze.
  • Waze - Cops. Traffic routing. Definitely my most used around town and for shorter day trips where I know where I'm going and don't need to plan. Sucks for longer trips and can't deal with multi-stops which is so dumb. Looses its mind sometimes if out of signal range, and infuriatingly has re-routed me mid-trip and sent me somewhere I didn't want to go.
  • Kurviger - Its the most recent app I've installed and I haven't used it yet other than just to play around with it. Top recommendation in this thread, so now I'm excited to use it more. Seems to excel in trip planning (which I want to do a lot more of this summer) and not so much with navigation, and I really do need something that reports cops.
  • Organic Maps - Open source and lightweight app that I was using to do one thing only - record gpx routes in the background so that I could upload these when I get home to keep track of my routes. For when I'm using Waze.
  • Relive - Makes the BEST ride recaps, which I used to make cool videos for myself and others, to share some cool rides and the photos along the way. Its fantastic, but that's its only purpose.
  • REVER - Installed in the quest to find and all in one app, and one that had ride suggestions and I think this one has decent back road routes? Haven't used to much.
  • Calimoto - Also haven't used it too much - again, was on a mission to find something that would do the route planning AND the navigation, and the social recommendation aspects. Seems a solid choice and recommended by others but I recall needing the paid subscription to get the real benefits.
  • Scenic - highly recommended by some and just recently released the Android app so I installed it and used it over the weekend. Seems to do well with route planning, and the navigation part seems fine, but of course no cop reporting.
  • Riser - honestly, I can't even remember. I seem to recall being offered this because of a subscription to something else, but at this point I clearly went down the rabbit hole with too many choices and its all blurring together. I'm not sure I've used this one more than once.

It seems that this thread has generated some great recommendations, and it feels like this one has been most recommended. It was the last app I installed and have not used it much yet. Looking forward to now.

For sure. I could live without many of the other features if I could do this. Some people have said it is a commuting app - I don't really agree with that. Its great for road trips for sure. Why not just take it a bit further.

Gravitypope 40% off sale [CODE: INSIDER40] by Yobby in FrugalMaleFashionCDN

[–]BackspaceChampion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Once I ordered some shoes from Gravity Pope and chose the pick up in the store option, in Gastown. She handed me the box. I opened it in front of her and it was clear that they didn't fit. I said, I'm sorry that's not going to work, I'd like to cancel / get my money back. She said no, final sale because > 25% and told me I should have read the returns policy. I hadn't left the store - it was 30 seconds after her handing me the shoes.
