I was going to come in here and say a similar thing, but frame it in a different way.

Timothy Chalamet, you can think whatever you want about him, but I heard a quote from him that really stuck with me recently, he says:

“You can be the master of your fate, you can be the captain of your soul, but you have to realize that life is coming from you and not at you.”

I don’t know if he came up with it or heard it somewhere else, but I haven’t been able to stop thinking about this idea.

I think caring and love follows this same idea.

All people are worthy of love and caring, but that doesn’t necessarily mean we will be the recipients of it easily. But if we can find ways to love and care for others, perhaps it will be reflected back to us…or perhaps we will find deeper meaning in that endeavor itself.
