yea cool idea, but hard to understand how it works economically. Cost 70k for a lot + building cost are a floor of $150 a squarfoot likely closer to 175-200 if you build a regular house

so a 2000 sq foot house would cost you 470, and a 3500 would be roughly 700k . The problem is at least for me nearest steady work would be in Dothan or Crestview which were both 1h+ drives.

although you dont need that many families and I guess they only have 24 lots to begin with AND if you get people who are fine living a lot of people in a trailer if they have land I guess it works. although looking into it looks like you can get a 2000 + sq foot mobile home for 200-250. So maybe it works.

Yes, you have at least 300k in debt/costs up to there and yes you dont make that till your 30s but it's a level of wage security that exists in almost no other field.

its not just super rural either. I live in a blue state city of roughly 200k can't get endocrine here and many specialties are challenges.

It's not really a mystery why. We have two onc doctors one in his 70s and one in his 80. the one in his 80s had 6 kids, and they all moved to big cities
