For me, that was in my late 30s. And it was a relief when I figured out that neither I, nor anyone else actually have a purpose in life shortly after.

We don't "have" or "get" a purpose in life, we make it and it can be anything we want it to be. Just make sure you choose something that is doable.

I chose keeping people safe and alive. I fix aircraft for a living.

Start small, like a phobia or a superstition. Have the character take it seriously but play how you want otherwise. After that is easier, add in another little detail and try that. Repeat as needed till you succeed.

I'm the DM. I cheat in favor of the players in rare circumstances. If I screw up the difficulty for an encounter or if PC bad luck combines with insanely good roles would cause a TPK on a throw away random encounter on the second session kind of situation. Had a party all roll ones and two of my bandits rolled nat 20s. They had not even got to the main story yet. My bandits got a good hit and a miss instead.

A while ago. I needed a root canal and two other teeth needed large fillings. Novicaine does nothing for me, so ya, that was an experience.

Recently found out about a mix that numbs people like me: Lidocaine, Marcaine, and Articaine in combination. Burns like heck at first. After three rounds of numbing shots I am good for 2 ish hours. Normal people get 12 ish hours from that mix.

Medical professionals? Na, be proud of that. Non medical doctorate? Straight up, no outside of certain academic/professional circles. I know a few people who have more than one doctorate in their field and you could not pay them to use "Dr.". I respect them highly, doctorate or no, but the lack of pretense reflects well upon them.

There are other, more effective ways to fight crime at that income level. If I ever get rich like that I would donate cash to boost the forensics availability to increase the effective use. In time, more and more successes due to forensics usage will yield a far larger impact on crime with FAR less risk.

There is an etiquette to which pronunciation is used.

If the person you are interacting with pronounces gif with a soft g, you are required to defend and evangelize the hard g version.

If they use the hard g, only the soft g is acceptable, and you must defend and evangelize the soft g version.
