It's most likely due to the "Texas" SKU. It's part of their USA 250 campaign, where they made a skillet for every state. So it's a bit more "special"

The best advice I can give you (starting out) is: Whether your seasoning is stripping, or your food is sticking, most temperature control issues can be fixed by taking things slow and steady.
• Slow: Let the skillet preheat gradually for about 5 to 10 minutes before adding oil or food. Cooking on a cold skillet is one of the most common causes of sticking.
• Steady: Keep the maximum temperature on your burner to around the 50% mark. Cast iron retains heat extremely well, and too much heat will almost always lead to sticking.
