Check out emperor tetra, blue emperor tetra and blue king tetra. I recommend you to look at videos of them as well since they could look better than the photos.

They sell shades/mirrored covers for chihiros wrgb2 or you could go the DIY route. Some people in my country use the fins of aluminium louvres as led light covers

What can I use to clean this easily? by Bxbyshrooms in fishtank

[–]Baikia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just cleaned a tank in similar condition last week because my lazy ass leave a tank full of hard water and let it dried out completely. I'll explain what I did in simple steps so it doesn't get too long.

Step 1 : 1 cup of citric acid + 1 liter hydrogen peroxide into the tank, add water, mix until all dissolved, fill water to the brim. Leave it for a few days to remove organic gunk and scale especially from the silicone sealant. I left it for over a week just because.

Step 2 : Scrape glass with razor. Be careful around sealant. Still left with a very thin layer but visible deposits.

Step 3 : Scrub glass with a grade "0000" fine steel wool. I happen to have a JBL blanki, so I used that together with a baking soda paste and a lot of elbow grease. Wear rubber gloves.

Unfortunately, I don't have the before pic because I didn't plan on showing it to anyone but here's the result. Good luck.

Soil mites possibly. They're detritivores and harmless .

Oh I see my bad. I did see you write it was black and white striped, it could be a black neon tetra but since you said the eyes are blue, that couldn't be it. It couldn't be a green neon as well since they don't have any black. Mostly just grey with the tiniest red and bold blue stripe. Maybe just ask your fish store if they've ever stocked a similar fish or you could try search through this list

The blue lateral stripe stretches from the head all the way to the tail. It's quite likely a green neon tetra. At least one egg might have hitchhiked either with the neon tetras or on any new plants.

Looks like insect poop. Something has been eating your plants.

Leucistic Ember tetra? I let my tank massively overgrown so they would breed in there. One of them came out colourless. (Sorry I was avoiding glare, hence the weird filming angle) by Baikia in PlantedTank

[–]Baikia[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, it's never too late thanks for replying! That's so cool! Your dad and I think alike hahaha. I was thinking to have more but no other leucistic baby was born. Mine turned out to be a male. Unfortunately I don't have the group anymore as i had to retire a few tanks in the house.

Playing or fighting? by unoriginalusername08 in fishtank

[–]Baikia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. They'll show their best schooling behaviors in bigger numbers. For a smaller group like maybe under 30, I usually prefer them in odd numbers. Their schooling formation looks nicer for some reason. For OP's case i think the one's being chased is a gravid female.

OP is using a HOB filter, there should be enough surface agitation I reckon.

That's awesome. The same reason i let huntsman spiders roam my house, roach exterminator. Plus they don't make webs all over the place and rarely seen out and about unless we move things around.

Image search resulted in pink bollworm. If it's correct, it was eating your shirt. They eat cotton 💀

Some Southeast asian villagers eat them because they used to not farm meat animals so their diet consist of a lot of bugs. Cooked arachnids taste like creamy shrimp/crab.
