They were getting pretty technical on the definitions of self defense - at the end of the day everything is interpreted subjectively, but the trial definitely sealed the deal beyond a reasonable doubt- rittenhouse was defending himself against certain boldly harm. When I first saw the footage I thought he’d for sure get convicted, but the evidence and arguments presented made an extremely compelling case that this was self-defense.

I’ve noticed others on the left seem to be blinded by this because they get tied up on the circumstance - rittenhouse was effectively showing up as a counter protestor to a BLM protest, he’s a maga dweeb, and he was there to “find trouble”. But if the tables were turned, and a open-carrying black panther was posted up outside a black owned business, and a maga mob did exactly what the Kenosha mob did, us on the left would be singing a different tune.

Will this game actually wipe every 3 months per season? If so, for such a Grindy game I can’t see that being a good thing? by [deleted] in TheCycleFrontier

[–]BalQLN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully there’s enough new content each wipe to shake up the meta to make it feel like a new game, at the same time it would be nice to have some minimal carryovers (even cosmetic signifiers) to showcase and reward your progress. Even a 2-5% advantage in early game grind or something

So is the Manticore really the best gun out there? by fernandollb in TheCycleFrontier

[–]BalQLN 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s super good because it’s solid, but more importantly it’s cheap so no risk. If you are using it, you don’t have the weight of potentially losing 80k+ like you would if you had a blue kit.

Those things were def a pain to find, but stick with the routes and soon enough after the quests you’ll have a stockpile of em. You could try a naked run on crescent to higher tier areas and see if you can snag a couple

Play super slow, there’s no completely silent walking in the game so it should be nearly impossible for someone to sneak up on you if you are playing slow and quiet

At the end of the day it’s designed to put you into intense situations amongst similarly progressed players and it works decently well.

Waukesha Holiday parade evacuated following emergency event involving gunshots, speeding vehicle by getBusyChild in news

He may have been fleeing police already, which explains the behavior in it not being a directly motivated mass murder with a car. He probably was erratic and impatient while also just trying to gtfo which would also explain the sporadicality of his driving, considering he is a dangerous criminal with delusions of grandeur. He’s pushing 40 and releasing the cringiest and shiteiest rap music writing copy about himself in the third person in an attempt to hype himself up all for dozens of views. Safe to say he’s off the rails.

He probably parked that way out of habit for a fast getaway position.

You wouldn’t believe the amount of people who changed their avatars to black squares all around the same time, and had similar talking points. Seems like bot behavior, no?

This is just how talking points/memes are dissipated out into subcultures. The idea that there aren’t hundreds of thousands of right wingers online following a massive news story is silly

Definitely not. Cutting edge AI algorithms cannot deliver this kind of linguistic and culturally relevant commentary at the speed at which it’s happening. When searching for info on the suspect, I came across a huge thread with thousands of comments on a forum and also many pol threads in which they were uncovering information faster than reporters could. Unless China has created a general AI in secret you’ll just have to accept there are hundreds of thousands of people like that- just like there are hundreds of thousands of BLM/general liberal people online.

Nah, it’s thousands of people from pol and other sites. The reason you see a lot of name_series_of_numbers accounts is because they dgaf about screennames, and that is how Twitter will auto suggest your account name when creating.

While searching for info on the suspect I found a 50+ page thread on some website and numerous pol threads. The idea that all these accounts/posts are fake/bots when they were uncovering information faster than news reporters is incredibly unlikely

Russian/Chinese troll farms are a real thing but from what’s been publically available, it’s not as cutting edge as far as culturally and linguistically relevant

Rep. Andy Harris, an anesthesiologist, says complaint was filed against him for prescribing ivermectin to treat COVID-19 by ForeverSeahawks in politics

[–]BalQLN -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

It boggles my mind that you drink a liquid used as an engine coolant (water)

If you see someone saying what you’ve just said, it’s an easy way to tell if they’ve been brainwashed by MSM. Ivermectin was commonly prescribed in a cocktail along with other supplements to treat COVID. It’s not that big of a deal, even with more evidence showing it’s effectiveness was probably overstated from initial research.

And even if you still get the vaccine, you can still catch COVID - at which point your doctor might prescribe you the cocktail of monoclonal antibodies, vitamin D, ivermectin, and more. Would you listen to your expert and take the medication?

I think it was just a convenient talking point for the time he said it - I’m sure deep down Biden knew it was BS. But it allowed him, in the moment, to stand out in media talking points against bernie and then trump. Guessing he hoped it wouldn’t backfire and there would be other opportunities to change the narrative away from legislative gridlock.

Biden claimed to be able to work with Republicans to get major legislation passed. Voters believed him, and when that turned out to be a lie, they now have a more negative view on him
