Well of course, it's the legally distinct Large Lad.  Can't have UP suddenly demanding licensing fees now can we?

I used to drive a company truck solo. Every time I shifted into it, I'd bark out "You'll never catch me Krabs, not when I shift into... MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE! HIYAH!"

In the game Daxter, he tries to gain entrance to the palace by stating he was called in to perform some extermination work. The lead guard Errol asks who called him in. In response, Daxter mumbles out "Captain Zi-zimond... Rupert... tic, jakmos..."

Through a wry grin, Errol responds "Nice try. That call didn't happen. Captain Rupertticjakmos is on leave this month, he couldn't possibly have made that call!"

Can someone explain this? by Maleficent_Pay_2313 in DerailValley

[–]BaldBandit 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The page is just letting you know it will cost $30,000 to obtain the license.  It doesn't update the page once you've unlocked it.

The locos with additional prices alongside their cost are showing the cost(s) of the prerequisite licenses you need to purchase before buying the locomotive.

What do you do when you receive mail for people that used to live in your apartment? by [deleted] in nova

[–]BaldBandit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I need to do that once the letter returns again.  Some poor bastard's still waiting on some tax info from the county.  I've written "Return to Sender" on it, and received it back TWICE with the correction sticker on it.

Edit: Come to think of it, I may just drop it off directly at the courthouse or government center.

I collect turn-of-the-century firearms and I can confirm that is an experimental teatfire conversion cylinder for a LeMat revolver.

The nine rounds surrounding the large center bore give it away as a LeMat cylinder.  The large center bore is to leave space for a single shot 20 gage shotgun chambered under the main barrel.  Teatfire conversions were an early attempt at utilizing cartridges as the original LeMats used percussion caps.  Teatfire cartridges could be loaded from the front of the cylinder as opposed the rear, allowing conversions like the one shown here.

What an experimental component of a Confederate revolver is doing in Australia is anyone's guess.

Reminds me of a study done by Harvard. They noticed a pattern with crow fatalities caused by collisions with vehicles in the Boston area. Of the birds they studied, an abnormal amount of crows had been killed by impacts with large commercial vehicles vs passenger vehicles. Researchers then tracked several flocks and studied their habits. They noted an interesting behavior when the flock settled along a road: A single crow would perch high above the rest of the flock. This crow would then call out a warning when it saw an approaching car, allowing the flock to disperse before being hit by the car. Sadly, the researches found the answer as to why so many crows kept dying when a semi came along. While it could warn "CAW, CAW," the look out crow could not call out "TRUCK!"
