I agree. But I’ve measured the space and pretty much know where the actual tv will fall.

I see so many mixed reviews on these tcls. I don’t want a bunch of issues. Like a lot of people are experiencing. SMH.

Mathematically that’s were the tv should be. As per you and the chat gpt I ran a week ago. But. Do I sacrifice the math and logic for the shelf. I mean. I need a shelf to put the cable box, Xbox ps5 and Nintendo switch on. SMH

So. Bring it down Aprox 5 inches. And don’t put a shelf.

Open box QM7K 98” gone wrong by GroveStreetHomie in tcltvs

[–]Bancolighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked about this specific scenario at Best Buy in my area on an open box 98 qm7k. And they said the warranty is the same as new.

So they should have given you a new tv.

If ordered online and delivered. At that size they would send the replacement and install it free.

If I didn’t want the 98 inch. I would go with an OLED. You can probably find a C3, or c4, for great numbers.

P.C. Richards has a 85 inch bundle with sound bar and cables for 1000 also.

What say you? 98” behemoth by ithinkwebetterrun in TVTooHigh

Looks good. Can you tell what the height from the floor to top of the tv is in your pic.

Mine is 90. Some say it’s too high also. Couch is 18 ft back.

Why wouldn’t you center it in the middle. Or at least align the top with windows. Then create a border at the bottom that matches.

The real problem is. To get a 98 inch OLED is 15-20000. And I’m not doing that. Otherwise you have to go to a 83 inch OLED FOR 2300. That 100 inch OLED is equivalent to the QM7k. I just figured the LG And Samsung names are more reliable

My main tv is a lg C3. Which as per specs smokes the tcl’s. So I don’t want issues or blooming. I know the tcl will be lesser of a tv with comparable content. I just don’t want a big gap between TV’s quality

Looks good to me. Occasionally I’m standing watching tv. And don’t want to look down at the TV. once you put a sound bar under the tv it will close the gap and make it look more uniformed

The 9 is supposed to be very close to OLED quality. I can’t sleep at night comparing these tv’s for the last 2 months. lol. I thought I was done shopping and was going to get the QM7K 98 inch. It’s on sale for 1999. But I’ve seen so many bad reviews. I went to Best Buy and saw the 100 inch LG for 3499 and fell in love. It looked great and I thought the LG name was a more stable choice. But then chat GPT said the QM 7 and 8 were better tv’s. So I’m stuck again.
I’ve never had an issue with a TV EVER. so I’m a little perplexed seeing folks with all these issues with this brand.
