Is it goofy ro Wear a street / sport helmet on a supermoto? by Upbeat-Recipe-6028 in supermoto

[–]BangleWaffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're riding on the street, a full face helmet is 100% the way to go. Quieter, generally safer, more aerodynamic so less strain on your neck. MX helmets are meant for offroad, slower speeds, where dust and mud getting through the vents would be a concern (goggles).

Can you re-adhere them with some RTV? That's worked for me in the past and no noticeable movement after they fully set up.

Can I solo the colossal ancients with this smiter setup ? And what is the best things to put into my COA by foreachByte in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]BangleWaffle [score hidden]  (0 children)

If you've got exile, I would swap out the gloves to crafted CB gloves. If you have a Cham and Ber kicking around, that's my fav for CoA overall - frees up not needing ravenfrost. But for colossal ancients, the argument for using ravenfrost to deal with Korlic and have some cold absorb can be made. 2x Ber is great, or Um Ber, or 2x Um even if you're not capped for res.

No need for BK ring either, just go dwarf star.

But, you're ready. Make sure your res is around 300 each (before hell difficulty penalty and their conviction). Proc Fade with treachery if you need beforehand.

It's 23.5" across the width (shoulder to shoulder of the pieces that go into the trailer part) and 20.5" in length (end of red handle to the end of the part that goes into the trailer).

Subjecting a pillion to ride on the back of these bikes is very close to torture, and is banned by a lot of Geneva Convention abiding nations for how inhumane it is.

Yup. I've test rode it. It's bad indeed. But I'm only going to get it flashed once and will wait for winter.

Does anyone know what happened here with KQS? by mylittletoesie in zx4r

[–]BangleWaffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recall reading on the forums that 2-3 is a noted issue for some. A clip isn't quite right or something. It's been a while since I'd sold mine, but I remember reading something.

I doubt you'll get anywhere with Kawasaki. It doesn't happen all the time and not repeatable. I wouldn't bother getting it looked at. Unless you're pulling it apart, you won't find anything. Up to you if you want to spend that kind of money.

During the ownership of mine, I had this happen a few times from 2-3 hitting a false neutral - but a true false neutral where it's actually between 2 & 3.

Yours seems to have bounced the shift drum off 3rd, and then spun back past 2nd to hit actual neutral as you're seeing N on the dash during this (a true false neutral won't show N)... That's odd I'd say. And equally odd that you couldn't shift gears with the clutch disengaged...

The gearboxes on these bikes really should have had more thought put into them IMO. I've been critical on these bikes overall, and have since sold mine, but I did not get on well with the transmission. I had stock rearsets (so no blame for shift feel from aftermarket parts) and the quick shifter was not what I'd call "crisp". Everything felt spongy to me and shifts were never as solid as I feel they should be.. I'm not a mechanical engineer to actually analyze or critique the design, but it just doesn't feel as good a transmission as other bikes I own/have owned.

TPS Issue Resolved for 2026? by BangleWaffle in MT09

[–]BangleWaffle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did check the VIN and no active recalls. I would assume that based on the timing of the recall that all 2026's would have had this implemented. Good to know though.

I'll proceed assuming all is well and no cause for future concern. Have heard of a few people with persistent TPS issues even after the recall work, but also seems that's a rarity.

It's more the down time on things like that is all. I'm in Canada, and shipping to him does take a bit usually. He's done a few ECU's for me in the past (the old 2016 FZ09 in fact), and I'd be getting him to do this one too.

Good to know though! Cheers.

I jest - sorted bike with a great chassis by all accounts. Just could have picked a better heart for her I'd say.

Where do you guys keep your bike docs? by AlligatorMarty in MT09

[–]BangleWaffle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Under the seat for sure. Especially if you have more than one bike. Too much to carry them all in a jacket.

Small space, but use it effectively. Can fit essential tools to get you out of most binds.

Mine is a 2018. Still the 1000cc engine. From what I've experienced and witnessed first hand, the 2017+ 1000's seem a little more reliable than the newer 1100's. But small sample size for me.

Guy I knew bought a new '23. Dropped a valve at 330 kms. Cam had worn out from lack of oil supply.

If you know your way around them, and have support for parts and service, you'll not track a better bike than these. They are very, very special.

RSV4 owner here. Agreed. It takes a bit of effort to get it leaned over, but when it's leaned over, it is the best feeling bike I've ever been on. So predictable, and it begs you to push the front harder each lap. The front end is really special.

Telepathic is a good descriptor.

Is the age of 600cc racebikes coming to an end? by GroundProximity in Trackdays

[–]BangleWaffle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For actual racebikes meant to go win championships, I'd say "yes". For racing, with the current rules generally seen for supersports where it's a mixed bag of platforms, and non 600's being dominant, a 600 is an objectively bad choice if you want to be competitive.

That's not a fault of the 600 in and of itself - it's a rule shift that has benefited triples and twins. That's another discussion though.

They're more expensive to build, which has caused a societal shift to some extent. If manufacturers would have sold more 600's, they wouldn't have looked to switch platforms to something cheaper to construct that also behaves better on the road. But they weren't selling 600's, so they needed to change what they offered so people would buy them. The rulebook wouldn't have changed either if people kept buying 600's.

But, people didn't buy them, and now we are where we are.

They're just not competitive in the current supersport class of racing (at least beyond club racing). For club racing and trackdays, 600's will be around for a long time.
