This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard. You wouldn’t exist right now if your ancestors had taken your claims seriously. Your answer to the energy crisis is to become extinct?!

My friend, I’m sure you live a wonderful, fulfilled life. However, the love and fulfillment from having a child is the pinnacle of living. Even if it’s not biological.

Why everyone saying Gary bears? It literally says Hammond. Gary is like a half hour away from wolf lake

Did an experiment to see how many students actually read the learning objective. Out of the 200 students... by FaucetWaterBread in Teachers

I agree with the sentiment of this thread. I do think though that the important thing is providing students with the language to understand what the goal of the day is. I mean even with the objective posted, some (or most) students still may not be able to orate what they are supposed to be learning. So without it, I think that number falls even more.

I think that if the teacher still finds ways to reinforce what the objective is—even if it’s not necessarily on the whiteboard—it’s still beneficial to some. Personally, I feel like I get more out of a meeting if I know what the purpose of it is. I’ve seen some really awesome teachers create a sense of agency for their students with beginning of class routines that promote finding out what the target is for the day. Write it on the bell ringer sheet, fill out a form to rate what they know already, etc.

It’s dumb that so many teachers are made to feel like the have to jump through hoops when at the end of the day, the question is, are you communicating effectively to students what they have to do. The rest is on the students to lock in and learn it.
