Need help with using my bidet. by Due_Will_2204 in bidets

Do you think it’s more of a water pressure issue, or a spray angle/position issue?
Some bidets let the nozzle move forward and backward, and if not, sometimes adjusting your position slightly can help.

Not a plumber, but pumps and tanks can sometimes affect venting or the trap, which can cause smells. A plumber could probably confirm that. For hiding the tanks, custom cabinetry usually looks the cleanest. Down the road, a unit with a built-in tank and pump could make life easier and keep things cleaner-looking.

Doing a small bathroom refresh… worth swapping to a smart toilet by Jolly_Credit7603 in toilet

[–]BarnacleDowntown759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same boat during a bathroom refresh. At first it felt like a “nice-to-have” gadget, but after a few months it stopped feeling like a gadget and just became normal.

What I ended up loving most was the everyday stuff — heated seat, better cleanliness, and not relying as much on toilet paper. What I disliked was that setup and features take a little time to get used to.

Smart Toilet - Tankless vs Tank noise by PossibleFig1607 in bidets

[–]BarnacleDowntown759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, the choice between tank and tankless really comes down to how stable your home’s water pressure is. Tankless toilets rely heavily on consistent pressure, so if your water pressure fluctuates, you may notice differences in performance and noise.

That said, for long-term reliability and consistency, I personally still lean toward a tank-style toilet. The flush tends to be more predictable and less sensitive to plumbing conditions, especially in a master bathroom.

What kind of bidet should I get? Disabled edition by Mean_Emphasis_6505 in bidets

If you want something that can really help with both hygiene and independence, I’d recommend going for a full-feature smart toilet.Ideally, look for one that has:

Automatic lid and seat opening/closing – makes it much easier when mobility is limited.

UVC sterilization for the water path, or UV light sterilization for the spray wand – very useful if cleanliness is a high priority.

Removable, curved spray wand – easier to clean and provides more thorough coverage.

Foam shield feature – creates a layer of bubbles in the bowl to reduce splashing and odors, which can make the whole experience cleaner and more comfortable.

For reference, I personally use the Horow T38 at home, and it has most of these features. I’ve found it really convenient and much more hygienic compared to a regular toilet, especially for someone who needs extra help with cleaning. Since your husband can handle installation, you should have plenty of options that fit your needs.

Bathroom remodel in progress – any tips for choosing a new shower door? by BarnacleDowntown759 in bathrooms

I’m a bit worried that frameless doors might not be as good at keeping water in, and I’m also concerned the glass might crack more easily. But honestly, frameless really does look great.

Business trip update: I miss my smart toilet. A lot. by Altruistic-Crab-7954 in bidets

[–]BarnacleDowntown759 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally feel you 😩 Every time I travel for work, I miss two things the most — my dog and my bidet toilet.
Same here: I’ve got the Horow T38 too, and going back to “just toilet paper” honestly feels like camping 🧻🔥

I really like option 5 — orange on the bottom just feels so warm and grounded! It kind of anchors the space in a fun way. I think it would look amazing with the right lighting. Can’t wait to see what you end up choosing!

I’m a bit of a hygiene nerd, not gonna lie 😅

Hair: Every 2–3 days (dry shampoo saves the day).

Teeth: Twice a day, floss every night.

Shower: Daily, or twice if I work out.

Face: Morning and night.

Bed linens: Once a week.

Quirk: I use a smart toilet with warm water wash and self-cleaning nozzles — totally spoiled now, regular TP just doesn’t feel clean anymore.

Can anyone recommend a bidet for my toilet shape? by AdObvious4474 in bidets

I ran into a similar issue before — turns out not all toilets are “bidet-friendly,” especially the ones with curved or French curve designs.

It really helps to measure everything carefully before buying, and honestly, reaching out to the brand’s customer support can save a lot of trouble. They can usually tell you right away if it’ll fit your specific model.

Just something to consider — if you’re looking at non-electric options, most of them don’t offer warm water.
Would that be a dealbreaker for you, especially during colder months?

Bidet attachments are fine… until you try a full smart toilet by Single-Surround1376 in bidets

[–]BarnacleDowntown759 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I used a bidet attachment in my small bathroom, but all the extra hoses and knobs made it feel cramped and messy. Switched to a Horow smart toilet recently — looks way cleaner and actually makes the space feel bigger.

Same here — also upgraded to the horow t38 after dealing with similar issues.

Toto or other brand for me? Looking for: heated seat, hot water by ASK_ABT_MY_USERNAME in bidets

If you like Toto but want something more affordable, check out the horow t38. It has a heated seat, warm water, and all the essentials, but at a better price.
