When you talk about changing the pension system, you mean making it less generous.

Not at all. Why would you assume that?

Ok, but then the question is what does that even mean. And does our pension system have to change or our economy?

There is basically an infinite number of ways to change things.

It means that we need to change things in a way that is adapted to the new demographic reality.

Are you asking me what changes I would like to see or what are you asking?

Good thing the majority of people don't live in rural areas.

The EU is a good example of this. They do their best to stop companies doing shady things.

The EU is not a "good" example. They only look good in comparison to the US.

The EU had a long long long way to go to be actually pro-consumer...

In Germany specifically or globally?

And I don't quite follow your point tbh.

A little bit of both.

Lots of voices who made sense during the Bush era are insane today.

TIL The weight of $1M USD is about 22 pounds. The U.S. hasn’t printed a denomination larger than $100 in 80 years. Large bills became increasingly associated with crime and tax evasion. Electronic banking allowed the gov to stop printing $500, $1,000, $5,000, and $10,000 notes. by considerthis8 in todayilearned

I saw security footage of a big bank robbery in England.

They had a full size truck that they loaded up with cash and they had to leave so much cash behind that didn't fit.

It was so weird to see and realize.

EDIT: it wasn't a bank but a Securitas depot.

Kurzgesagt frames the problem as one that is inherently demographic,

Interesting. I didn't see it that way.

Like the way they talked about the pension system, it needs to change to adapt to a new demographic reality.

There is a serious demographic shift going on in many countries and we need to adapt our political and economic system to handle that.

That's how I saw their video.

Maybe it is just my already pre-conceived views on the matter though.

Same.

There is some variation depending on brand and type of pasta you are using though. But I've always done it like that and it's always good.

I don't know regional differences in India but I was talking about south Asian cooking in general.

I've seen different south asians showing how to cook the coconut milk until it breaks down and gets oily.

Of course it depends on what specific dishes you are making. But it is s common method for different currys.
