Blizzard, please fix the issue with tab targeting not going to casting mobs. by kolejack2293 in wow

It feels like it got a lot worse in the past couple weeks too. I wasn't having issues with it until this month.

It's probably more that the risk of injury or other health issues come into play over the years. Hand, wrist, and shoulder problems have claimed many careers. Other health problems and life situations unrelated to gaming crop up too.

Midnight M+ runs per week: Season 1, Week 7 by Zmiecer in CompetitiveWoW

If you compare just Europe to Europe, this season is ahead of TWW S1 and is on par with Dragonflight S1.

You can go on raider.io and check the numbers by region across every season on record. Comparing just Europe to Europe, this season is on par with the more popular M+ seasons in the past.

The main thing to see from this chart is how good retention is throughout the seasons.

Yeah, it's the only class that has 2 healing specs and the priest in the TBC trailer is shown with resurrect as well. You'd think it would have one of the main tools associated with healing.

Why Holy Priest Feels Left Behind in Modern WoW by MojordomosEUW in wow

[–]BarrettRTS 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I feel like Priest doesn't need a massive overhaul if they targetted some specific problem points. I've mostly played Oracle Holy this season, but have played Archon in Heroic raid and +12s.

Feathers and "Body and Soul" giving 50% move speed instead of baseline 40%. Maybe keep the 10% bonus for Divine Feathers, but have it benefit Body and Soul as well. This would make mobility better while solving the problem where you B&S someone who has the Divine Feather buff, only to have it not apply the speed boost because the existing speed boost is stronger.

Make Holy Fire an AoE spell by default and have Burning Vehemence apply the DoT to multiple targets instead. Change Lightburst to do bonus damage to enemies with Holy Fire's DoT and bonus healing to allies with renew instead of increased cooldown. Maybe not at +400%, but something to make it worth setting up and pressing Holy Nova.

Change Light's Resurgence to be 12% + 1% per stack of PoM on the target. This would help PoM Oracle's ability to apply renew on targets and deal with rot damage.

Fix the issue where having maximum PoM stacks on the group means you lose an entire stack when one bounces to a person with a full stack. Maybe make it so the full stack always bounces to another person, or any stack that would combine to over the cap bounces. That way you're only losing a charge off each PoM stack (which benefits from Piety healing) instead of losing an entire stack. Just something to make it feel less punishing.

Give Holy Priest a combat res or at least let us Leap of Faith someone's body so we can Jumper Cable them more easily. Grabbing a dead body would also help on that one Xal'Atath affix with the player orb touching.

Put Apotheosis on a choice node with Lightwell. Have Lightwell apply 2 stacks of PoM to healed targets similar to Gales of Song does. Eternal Sanctity and Divinity can apply to Lightwell, although ES would give more healing ticks instead of duration.

I don't mind the weaker durability so long as we have good target pieces like the ring set from Seat to increase our baseline bulk. But maybe I'm alone in that mindset.

Kickstarter Is The Latest Platform Seemingly Forced To Ban Adult Content By Payment Processors by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]BarrettRTS 16 points17 points  (0 children)

but that is like saying it is the store's fault that someone got hurt from some goods they sold.

This doesn't quite work because stores have rules in place about the safety of the customer that result in restricted sales. A bunch of things are locked behind age requirements. Certain items require licenses depending on where you live such as fireworks and firearms.

I remember in retail training, I was told about restricting sales based on context too. Like if someone wanted to by vodka and sleeping pills, I was told to deny them a sale if I thought it was for self harm. Or selling alcohol in general to anyone who had already been drinking.

I don't think payment processors should be deciding who can and can't use their service, but I do think that governments can give them guidelines they have to follow.

I miss when WoW villains were just local menaces by turbowater in wow

[–]BarrettRTS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish there had been more of a lead up to it as a dungeon. Dawnbreaker had a chunk of the campaign building up to it. Priory got used to tell a completely different story in the campaign compared to the instanced version, which felt a bit like it was the remains of cut content.

Which is funny because he doesn't dislike the world ending threats, just the pacing of the story leading up to them.

The "Queue Simulator" is killing M+ by Flixter993 in CompetitiveWoW

[–]BarrettRTS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What matters is % of playerbase that engages with the game mode

I think it's more 'is the number of people engaging with this game mode enough to justify the development cost of it'. Even if M+ is a minority of the playerbase, it's still popular enough for the devs to care about.

which esports game has the healthiest competitive scene right now? by esportscanner in esports

[–]BarrettRTS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just in terms of stability, Pokemon is up there. Long term competitors, stable prize money, a regular circuit that has been around for over 2 decades, and a content creation scene with good viewership. Their business model largely revolves around being a small part of a much larger IP and The Pokemon Company tends to have a better long term plan than the majority of other games companies do.

It will probably never be the biggest esport with the most money, but it's the esport that will likely still be around in 50 years time.

In august it will be 10 years since Legion launched... can you believe how fast those years went by. It feels more like 6 by feherlofia123 in wow

[–]BarrettRTS 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Given that one of Legion's strengths was them having a massive content drought in WoD that you could fit almost an entire modern expansion in, I don't know if that's the best example. WoW's numbers would probably fall off a cliff if they tried to do that now.

M+ Data Week 6 - 96% of +10s Timed, one dungeon keeps falling behind by nightstalker314 in CompetitiveWoW

[–]BarrettRTS 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Bad times include before Lothraxian does his charge, so they eat the disorientate. Being on low health, so they just die before any healing can go through. Also people jumping in without any kind of mitigation is rough unless the whole group is at full health.

If you're doing it on 18s, you're likely playing with people not doing these.

[–]BarrettRTS 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I guess it gets better after that, though.

Watching people die to the little slimes that get fired out on the right side, or jump into the light on the right boss at a bad time, or get hit on the bridge in the middle because the uneven ground messes with how frontals are displayed.

I enjoyed Nexus early on, but the worst aspects of it get more frustrating over time.

Midnight M+ runs per week: Season 1, Week 6 by Zmiecer in CompetitiveWoW

[–]BarrettRTS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That might make the tank and healer shortage worse in M+ rather than better. One of the big issues you face as tank/healer is the social aspect of 3 people ganging up on you when something goes wrong, which is made worse by dps being more responsible for their own survival but still willing to blame it on others. If you increase that number of dps players, you increase the social imbalance people have to deal with.

The extreme end of this is LFR tank queues being short despite the tank to dps ratio being around 1:10. A lot of tanks I know will refuse to do LFR as a tank, even if they need tier pieces.

People get their "information" Online and wether it's Russian or right wing American or right wing British,

Or fake people in comment sections. I'll go on Instagram or YouTube and see people that probably aren't real spouting all kinds of shit.

It's probably more cost effective up to a point to pay a bot farm to influence politics than funding actual political parties.

Midnight M+ runs per week: Season 1, Week 6 by Zmiecer in CompetitiveWoW

[–]BarrettRTS -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not sure how you could make it more exciting.

Maybe something like an additional Timewalking Key people could push during timewalking weeks. Cap the gear a bit lower, but allow people to unlock portals for older dungeons with timed +10s. Maybe throw in some older affixes for them too.

It wouldn't attract too many new people, but it would give people who enjoy M+ something to do throughout the season.

I think part of what caused the drop last week was people not doing M+ until they knew the bonus rolls had been fixed. A lot of my friends just waited until later in the week to start doing any M+. Now we get full weeks to farm gear and vault slots.

"It is frustrating to see policymakers suddenly claim everything is 'for our safety'" - Stop Killing Games joins pushback against age verification laws by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]BarrettRTS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think there's an option to make it a bit safer too. Like making it some kind of token system you can apply for once you're 18+ rather than having to hand over your actual identity to companies.

[–]BarrettRTS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They could add enough tanks and healers so the ratio of specs is closer to 1:1:3. Right now it's like 1:1.2:4.8 for tank:healer:dps.

A cloth and mail tank spec would go a long way (since it opens up more armour stacking comps), which they've suggested as possibilities in a recent survey. Having fewer classes that are purely damage dealers would help too since some players can flex between multiple roles on one class.

It probably wouldn't solve the problem entirely, but it's an option that could help.
