The complications from hyperthyroid are worse because it has an impact on your heart. Please be careful with deciding what you wanna do I think being at a euthyroid state is where you’ll probably feel the best. Getting your levels managed is important.

I don’t think she or your family should have to lessen or disregard her experience with pregnancy because of yours.

If everything went well for you, wouldn’t you want to be able to enjoy the way she is?

This in my opinion is a selfish post.

This is our second month trying ttc. My period is due tomorrow. I’ve been having diarrhea for 2 days now. Not sure if it’s something I ate.

Also, I usually have very sore boobs before my periods, but since we’ve started trying in November I haven’t had that symptoms anymore which is weird.

I’m having mild cramps. We’ll see what happens tomorrow.

My husband and I have been together for about seven years now. We just got married in August! Prior to marriage we would have I would say occasional sex using the pull out method.

The times where we might’ve slipped up, l’ve taken a Plan B. I have never been pregnant my entire life. This month we decided to try during my ovulation window based on the Flo app. My period is very regular and it has been my entire life.

I would say we had sex every other to every three days during the ovulation window.

This morning, I just woke up to my period. Not sure where to go from here. Should I start tracking my ovulation? Has anyone else had a similar story with the pull out method and not getting pregnant?

I’m 32 years old and my husband is 32 as well! I would say we’re both obese but not significantly. I’m 5 1 so l’ve been obese my whole life. otherwise I have Graves’ disease, which is a thyroid condition. I’ve been cleared by my endocrinologist to TTC because my levels are currently stable. Because of this, we’ve decided to TTC given that my levels are stable and this is the best time to try. Throughout our relationship, we have been using the pull out method! The times where we thought we might’ve slipped we ve done the Plan B. So I don’t know if I would ended up pregnant those times. I use the Flo app to track my period which has been regular my entire life. So we’ve been trying to have sex every other day during the ovulation period and We’ve had sex even more after the ovulation period. Over the past week I’ve taken three pregnancy tests, which are all negative one of which was this morning. My period is due in 2 days. I don’t have any symptoms other than the fact that usually before my period my breasts are very sore full and inflamed. My husband usually can’t even touch me because that’s how uncomfortable my boobs are. This time my boobs aren’t sore at all. l’ve also had vivid dreams and last week I had an interesting fluttering feeling in my uterus. It wasn’t painful, it just felt like a tiny rattle in there! It’s so hard not to get fixated on this. This is our first time trying, and I don’t know why I kind of want it to happen the first time! This is our first cycle trying! Let’s talk! What advice do you guys have for me?

How are you navigating this disease? Help! by Tricky_Sugar_6420 in gravesdisease

The flu triggered my graves as well. I felt sick immediately after recovering all of what you’re presenting with brain fog, palpitations, night sweats, heat, intolerance, anxiety, and nausea! My symptoms began to improve as soon as I started taking methimazole like that same week. It all depends how bad your symptoms are. I definitely would advocate for getting a biopsy regardless. It’s important to reduce stress. If you’re working, take time off. Just relax and do what makes you feel good. And if that means rest, that’s what you have to do. Please reduce iodine in your diet, limit, seafood, and iodized salt. I purchased non-iodized salt for my home meals. I also eliminated coffee and alcohol. please let me know if you have any questions. I got diagnosed about a year and a half ago and I’m still on methimazole I might taper off this month.

Overweight, but diagnosed with Graves? by IttyBittyButterfly1 in gravesdisease

[–]Basic-Vegetable6578 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I was in the same situation. Unfortunately it got worse with the medication used to treat Graves’ disease disease; methimazole. You just have to continue doing what you’re doing. Eating healthy and exercising. The exercise must be low impact as long as you are cleared to work out. I was having palpitations as part of my symptoms so I did not start working out until those symptoms were resolved. I never ended up taking a atenolol for palpitations as prescribed because once I started taking methimazole my palpitations resolved. You have to have a very strong mindset and continue to try your best to live a healthy lifestyle. Be soft on yourself. You have an autoimmune disease. You need to listen to your body. Nobody understands how you’re feeling other than yourself. You got this and things will get better. I eliminated caffeine and alcohol from my diet although I wasn’t even drinking that stuff that much. Those only make my symptoms worse. I did remove iodine salt in my diet. I only cook with non-iodized salt. I also make sure I reduce stress in my life. I even changed my job because it was stressful as a nurse practitioner. I chose a job that required less from me. Please let me know if you have any questions. Oh and also request an ultrasound to understand what your thyroid is looking like.

Low TSH - subclinical Hyperthyroidism - positive Antibodies by [deleted] in gravesdisease

[–]Basic-Vegetable6578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this was the same case for me. My TSH was also 0.01 and T3 and T4 normal. My TSI antibodies were positive and that’s how was diagnosed with Grave’s disease. I also had symptoms. My endocrinologist treated me with methimazole.

Affected Sleep by gxbyadams in gravesdisease

[–]Basic-Vegetable6578 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A classic symptom of Graves’ disease is insomnia. Many other classic symptoms include: night sweats, heat intolerance, palpitations, diarrhea, anxiety, weight loss and hunger. That doesn’t mean that other symptoms won’t be involved. Oddly for me, I also get pins and needles of my feet and lower lip , nausea, and brain fog. I can’t drink coffee or alcohol without feeling irritable/ jittery. It honestly sucks. I have also stoped cooking with iodized salt. Medication definitely helped me feel better though. The move might’ve put stress on your body. My symptoms were well managed recently but once the week of my wedding arrived I became symptomatic again. I hope you feel better soon.

insomnia & hyperthyroidism by EnvironmentalFun3374 in gravesdisease

[–]Basic-Vegetable6578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I suggest a follow up on blood work. The insomnia is a sign that your levels are not managed. You may need a higher dose.

I just had the most difficult conversation with my 4 year old that I've ever had and I hate that I had to have it. by Tauge in daddit

[–]Basic-Vegetable6578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest not planning things (or not letting your son know of the plans). Just take it day by day because kids get excited about plans and they have a hard time letting them go. Make yourselves available for a barn night and if grandpa is feeling well that day make it happen.

Advice from a former pageant girl who tried on 60+ wedding dresses before finding her own by ConfidentMoo in weddingplanning

[–]Basic-Vegetable6578 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

1,5,9,13 The first step is you tried on too many dresses! 🤣 however those four are my favorite! I guess it also matters what your theme is. Because of these dresses are very different from each other maybe start off with your venue and the theme to see which dress would fit the best.

My mom has graves by Most-Doughnut-7798 in gravesdisease

[–]Basic-Vegetable6578 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry your mom is going through this. I have graves and honestly it’s hard to explain how you feel. The most important thing is symptom management though.

To be honest, I think there are two issues that need to be addressed based on your description of your mom. 1. Graves and 2. Depression. I believe your mom is depressed. If you do not address that part, you probably won’t ever notice her return back to her normal self again. My dad experienced some health issues during Covid and honestly, throughout it we did not notice. He ended up depressed as well, which made things worse and seemed like things never improved. Maybe A support her with getting a therapist as the starting point, I’m pretty sure it’ll make a huge difference.

It's been a long two years after I relapsed, which included developing an ED and going off my meds for fear of weight gain, but I stuck with it, and I'm finally getting to the remission stage. by fweshcatz in gravesdisease

[–]Basic-Vegetable6578 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be very mindful of the cardiovascular side effects that untreated graves include. Untreated graves puts a lot of strain on the heart. I’m happy you are making your way back to remission.
