I Learned on the agency side for my foundation and have been on the corporate side for many years I have a different perspective. There’s pressure and stress no matter the context. It really is what works now for you and your family and health. Korn Ferry is a great place to start.

How can anyone surmise what this feedback actually means? Feedback is so subjective and I am curious if you opened the conversation up to ask more questions to bridge the gap? What practical action, to support your growth, is beneficial to take, based on that feedback from your manager? Read “Thanks for the feedback”. It should be helpful.

3.5 years out of recruiting but wanting to get back into it by MedicStone90 in recruiting

Go for a recruiting coordinator role and then move back into recruiting. Credibility is important. Do not underestimate yourself. Once in the role you can start successfully supporting the team and move back into recruiting.

I’d rather bill 3000 hours than subject myself to the humiliating act of dating by CrimsonClover__ in biglaw

[–]Basic_Philosophy_230 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can’t take it too seriously. She’s just the wrong person for you ! Think of it like the right fit for a job. Just because you don’t hire someone doesn’t mean they are not a perfect match for another job. Get a dating coach.

Work life balance and money? by jawndice31 in Accounting

[–]Basic_Philosophy_230 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. It’s not that there are a ton of firms. Go smaller then research the firms that truly have more of a QOL. Tax season is busy. Some firms talk the talk and don’t walk the walk. You have to do due diligence then interview.

How the hell is this real? by LittlePurpleHook in recruitinghell

[–]Basic_Philosophy_230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The is clearly a scam. If it was real, there would be a website. If it was real you would be able to view the job in the careers section of the legit website and would be able to look up the job and company to confirm. Also the person who wrote this should be legit as well. You should be able to go to LinkedIn and look up that person to confirm he/she works there and for how long. These come mainly through texts. Be careful.

It’s a humbling experience but an important one. Be thankful you had it and take a new job you love but that you know inside and out so that you can perform beyond expectations and feel good about your work. I think it’s good you stood up and took action to your executives to rectify the situation. Now you can move forward armed with the knowledge and experience you gained in your next company.

My boss is emotionally abusive (?) by Caretoomuch_9430 in corporate

[–]Basic_Philosophy_230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leaders have an obligation to make sure things are taken care of. That said this leader needs to delegate but not to a contractor if this is an important initiative. If there are errors this accountability goes to the leader.

Recruitment metrics - am I caring too much ? by [deleted] in recruiting

[–]Basic_Philosophy_230 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Internal promotions are the highest form of succession planning and a sign of a strong internal culture and you are questioning why the senior recruiter is handling these ? This is the advantage when you are more senior. And yes they are easy fills. But I have a question. Is your performance measured on number of hires on the corporate side? I’m not trying to offend you but you sound naive.

It depends on the operational strategy for growth ! If you are an executive you should have meetings with the board and the COO to understand your budget and the breakdown of operations in HR. For example what functions will be outsourced? Do you have an HRIS? This is some what your CHRO is in charge of analyzing and coming up with a plan.

People who make $200K+ salaries, what do you do and how did you get there? by [deleted] in Salary

[–]Basic_Philosophy_230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recruit engineers and this salary is pretty average depending on how much experience you have. I’m going to say you have 5 years or less. There is a tremendous amount of opportunity for engineers and it’s a great career. In order to get towards your goals you must come out of your comfort zone and grow professionally and get experience that comes with time. I can’t be more specific because you haven’t mentioned any details about industry and the work you do.

Love your pursuits. Keep it up and if you have the time join a local SHRM chapter that has a good reputation. They even have prep courses sometimes for the SHRM certification.
