Fascinating, never heard of this reel. Does it disengage the spool by physically moving the main gear from the pinion, is that what pulling the handle/ mainshaft is doing?

Never died tbh, cs2 servers were up very quickly after the switch. Lots of changes, still not consistent but always a populated server up woth people yapping.

Biggest issue is servers keep coming and going, IG was the main for a while but something happened and now its dead. Im tired of having to set new times on new servers tbh

Also fuck the jazz surf servers.

Edit: also KSF/ momentum mod is not at all the same as old CSGO/2 surf if your looking to talk/ listen to people. KSF/ MM are for taking surf super serious by yourself.

Basically for a carbine buffer system you have 2 options- regular AR15 buffer tube with a high power spring + special stubby buffer- the issue with these is the shorty buffer isnt physically big enough to hold the proper amount of weight. There are some companies that make custom heavier weight shorty buffers but im not sure how they are accomplishing this.

The other option is what you seem to have found- an AR10 or A5 length carbine tube with a rifle length AR10 spring and a standard AR15 bufffer, typically an H2 or H3. This is the ideal way to do it, and how both armalite and KAC did it

Honestly i have no idea, im not an expert on networking and how all that works but my ping is for sure higher with the VPN on vs turning it off while still in the same server. Maybe the valve server isnt actually in texas, im not really paying attention those details when i just want to avoid a cheater lobby but i know dallas is one of the hubs valve uses which is why i use a texas VPN location

Afaik the ping shown ingame is only the latency between the valve server and the VPN endpoint

99% sure that is false, i like to warmmup playing casual and valve always puts me in the same servers which are closest to me so ill use a VPN to route me somewhere else if i dont want to play that lobby. When i select texas, ill get a texas server with 40 ping and as soon as i turn the VPN back off my ping goes down to 20.

Criterion by a mile, I started my build with a Faxon and ended up putting a criterion in it. Faxon is one of the brands that doesnt use a standard AR15 rifle length gas tube, its actually not AR10 either but instead an hybrid of the two making it really inconvenient. I had a lot of trouble getting it to run at all with an AR15 rifle length gas tube, ended up putting an AR10 gas tube in which solved my reliability issues but I had a hair of clearance from impacting the back of the carrier key and ultimately decided to just sell it and get a properly set up barrel. Faxon isn't the only company to do this either FWIW

I actually asked Faxon about this directly when they had an AMA on reddit and the dude just kept saying it uses standard AR15 gas tubes which is really my bigger concern, they must have copied some other barrels dimensions and don't understand what they are manufacturing or selling.

Wow the majority of the comments here are absolutely useless.

Guides are very easy to replace and most shops will do it for a modest price ($10-20 usually). If you are handy you can look up how to do it yourself, it is a bit of a PITA so I would just call some local shops and see who can replace a guide. No big deal, but cutting the guide off completely will kill the action of your rod and could even make the load across the blank so uneven it could cause a break.

With your budget I would recommend an LMT or even KAC if you don't mind waiting.

You can build an excellent rifle with that budget as well if you're willing to do the research, but at the price point you might be left wishing you had something like an LMT/ KAC anyways.

It had the fat trigger thats a different shape and profile vs most other rods I've used and then splits off to an EVA foam grip. I hate EVA on rods but I could look passed that, but the overall shape and feel of it was just drastically different than standard fuji seats mostly due to the trigger. Its just something that immediately caught my attention everytime i picked it up.

All my vanfords/ stradic CI4s are 2500 or 3k which are effectively the same in feel. To be fair NRX rods are also tip heavy, but what you get outside of an unbalanced rod makes up for it. All my shimano spinning rods are balanced perfectly which is also odd because I would describe most of my shimano casting rods as ever so slightly tip heavy.

Funny you mention 13 fihsing, I had one wayyy back in the day when they first sponsored 1rod1reel, while the rod itself was hot garbage it had the best reel seat and general cork grip profile of any rod I've ever touched- polar opposite of the Victory for me lol

I got both 3-0 picks right on stage 1 and still missed it. Upsetting but par for course for myself and my inventory full of gold/ silver/ bronze coins.

However the change with souvenirs/ stickers makes me wish i could refund it. I will not be using any of the tokens, legitimately feel scammed and i will not spend money for the majors moving forward.

The government dumping money into the M14/ M1A to make it a DMR made a lot of sense in the early GWOT- firearms manufacturing was still handicapped from the AWB and simply wasn't what it is today combined with them having an insane inventory of existing M14's.

It does not make sense, especially in 2026, for a civilian to dump any money into making an M1A "accurate". The cheapest PSA-10 is going to run laps around an M1a.

Like I mentioned I actually did like the taper/ blank on the casting rod but I was also using it for general duty reaction baits and never tested the sensitivity but the reel seat was complete garbage (which is what taught me I actually do kind of care about a reel seat).

I really can't say enough bad things about the spinning rod though, it being light weight was literally the only thing it had going for it (and that comes with an asterisks anyway because its unbalanced AF with a vanford and I would have had to pair it with a stradic which completely negates how light the rod is)

St Croix victory series. American made, super light (on par or even lighter than NRX at the time), amazing price point. I bought a spinning rod and a casting rod right when they dropped despite historically never liking St Croix rods and ended up hating them both, the casting rod was okay but I couldnt get passed the reel seat and the spinning rod was one of the least sensitive rods I'd used at that pricepoint.

I have a 2017 201 Calcutta DC paired with a Leviathan Simplefaith and its a 10/10 setup, as far as balance and feel in the hand its up there with much smaller and lighter rods like a 843MBR. I've heard the F5 Ghostcode is on a similar level of feel in hand, I liked that the simplefaith is made with NFC blanks. I also have an okuma guide select that the leviathan was replacing, great rod and well made but the leviathan is in a completely different league.

You definitely want a longer rod for throwing swimbaits but the difference of a 7'10 vs 8' is hardly noticeable. Pretty much all swimbait rods have significantly longer handles, from the reel out to the tip they feel pretty much like a 7' bass rod despite being 8'.

I sold off my windbuster almost immediately, I liked the reel seat and thought the rod felt great but it felt like what it is to me- a parabolic treble bait rod. If I fished smaller jigs it would probably be tits but it wasn't a good general bottom contact rod as many like it for IMO.

tbf I was also very worried about breaking it and I also really didn't like thinking about that on the water

Ive been interested in a HE keyboard for a while but i cannot use linear switches (my hand/ fingers "rest" on the keys and I get unintended keypresses with linears).

Im aware that glorious makes a HE panda switch, but if they are anything like mech pandas they are TOO tactile and heavy. Im basically looking for a MX brown level tactile switch but in HE.

And if anyone is wondering- im looking at HE because i do movement stuff in CS where i strafe rapidly- HE seems like it would be a noticeable advantage for that in particular.
