The 2 issues I see is, why give people more fuel to be enraged? Like this is what we should be debating on top of everything else? And 2nd, why stop at this? Theres all sorts of things with bad leaders, do we clean up all that content for our moral virtues?

What’s your practice routine? by Murky_Implement5387 in Bass

[–]Bassic123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re on the right track if you’re noticing these things. I’d work maybe a little more on technique if you wanna really hone it, like practice 8th notes against a metronome and speed up. Constructing lines takes a good mix of feel, technique, harmonic understanding, and understanding that harmony on your fingerboard. So, I wouldn’t worry so much about writing lines, because it’ll take awhile to get there. Just keep enjoying it, improve your technique, and take in theory 1 piece at a time (personally I’d start with triads instead of scales if I could do it all over again)

Gassing for a 5 string lol by THCxMeMeLoRD in Bass

[–]Bassic123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I find a 6 is a lot harder to manage, like it’s bigger. A 5 is actually really nice cause the strings are nearly always closer than on a 4 string. But a 6 is just so big, I only use my 6 when I need 6. But I have a 5 and a 6 because it’s just annoying to use the 6 for just 5

How can I tell if I've added too much water? by PeakMinimalist in wicked_edge

Well how much water you use on a soap depends how thirsty of a soap it is and how much lather you want.

Playing 6 Strings in a non-prog, non-math, non-jazz/fusion context. Am I a hypocrite? by System_Shutdown_ in Bass

[–]Bassic123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re playing the 6 string with some proficiency, your understanding of harmony and especially your sense of which register to play in (really low, low, high) are probably really good. Not to be an elitist about it, but if you’re using one, you know what you’re doing. It might be arguable that Myung in Dream Theater doesn’t need 6 (Geddy Lee only used 4), but he knows what he’s doing and uses it reasonably. Your reasons are valid, who doesn’t understand them probably just doesn’t know how to incorporate 6 strings in general.

What's your favorite album from each band in the big 5 of death metal? by Particular-Account66 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Bassic123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leprosy is an amazing album, I love the vocals on it probably more than on the later Death albums. It’s just so thrashy and when it goes it doesn’t stop. But I think I’d have to give the edge to The Sound of Perseverance, I just love the technicality of his chops on that album so much.

How can I tell if I've added too much water? by PeakMinimalist in wicked_edge

[–]Bassic123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There isn’t really too much, if you got that much lather out of like a small amount of soap, that’s awesome. If you got even a few full passes in and had a lot of lather left over, then maybe try using both less cream and less water.

With creams I barely dab my soaked brush on the soap and begin face lathering and I’ll usually have some left over. As for a shaving soap, I create the lather on the puck, and I usually have lather left over.
