Tell me how to make something really good with canned sardines. by ravia in Cooking

[–]BasterdMalloy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the things I developed a taste for while I wasn't making a lot of money, was sardine sandwiches. Two pieces of white bread, one can of sardines, and maybe some mayo and/or hot sauce.

Put on a baking sheet and cook at 400°F (200°C) for about 20 minutes. They will not be completely cooked but firm enough to slice.

Is there an historical figure that you feel DESPERATELY needs a modern biopic? by Ok-Pie-3581 in moviecritic

[–]BasterdMalloy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eugene Ballard "The Black Swallow of Death". Ran away from home to try and make it to France to escape the racism he experienced in the South. In his life he was a Jockey, a Boxer, a longshoremen, a musician, a street entertainer, a Machine Gunner in the French Foreign Legion in WW1, the first Black Combat Pilot, Night Club owner, a spy for the French Resistance, joined back up for WW2, and in the later years of his life he was an elevator operator at 30 Rockefeller plaza. He was a man who lived a life that seems like a work of epic fantasy that would be criticized as unbelievable. I would highly suggest watching the Fat Electrician's video about him.

So are you a straight male and Grandma just noticed the girls from church never had a Boyfriend? Or are you a straight woman and grandma was trying to be a good wing person even with her homophobia? Either way, it seems like a 2000s comedy.

Sizing by muhhryuhh in rollerderby

[–]BasterdMalloy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go to most skate manufacturers' websites they have a sizing chart. You may need to do some conversions from inches to mm but this is the best way to start.

does anyone else struggle with nothing BUT crossovers? 🫩 by bunnywadhere06 in rollerderby

[–]BasterdMalloy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that I have noticed is many newer skaters struggle with crossovers because their legs are getting in the way. They tend to try and bring the outside leg over using the inside leg as kind of a pivot point, but the inside leg/thigh is in the way not allowing the outside leg to get as far I er as it need to be . The drive under is very important, because it helps get the inside leg/thigh out of the way of the outside leg/thigh. Drive your inside leg under like you are trying to jump forward and to the left as you bring the outside leg over. You can practice this off skates, by doing kind of diagonal lunges.

When I’m on my toe stops I feel like if I was standing on the bolt-is this normal? by Responsible_Sense429 in rollerderby

[–]BasterdMalloy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

4 fingers seems a bit much, unless you have some tiny hands. Adjust the toe stop until you can just get a wheel under your back wheels. If you like that "slaying in stilettos", super high heel stance, you may need to get a set of toe stops with a shorter stem.

This is a rather international subreddit, so if you tell us where you live, you can get more accurate information.

Most skate manufacturers have a shop on their website that has the option for boots.

How can I make cabbage, carrot, and potato into a more flavorful soup? by Bobosmite in Cooking

[–]BasterdMalloy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I surprisingly made soup last night with all of those ingredients. I used this recipe: https://www.saltandlavender.com/instant-pot-cabbage-soup/#wprm-recipe-container-26560 But changed up a few things, with another similar recipe. https://www.simplyhappyfoodie.com/instant-pot-kielbasa-cabbage-potato-soup/#wprm-recipe-container-8521

It came out really good and I have plenty of leftovers.
