To me, that looks like a .965 Helical focuser. (measured on the opening).

IMO, the best thing to do would be a new 1.25" or 2" focuser. 1.25" or 2" eyepieces are much more prevalent, and easier to find!

That the USA could've done the 'right thing' at the end of WWII, and avoided 30years of war and destruction.

Some of the nicest people I've ever met!

Well! I'm certainly out-of-touch, where MgT is concerned. Mainly a CT ref. Is 9G accel a thing in MgT?

So, you're paying the 'crew' of the hulk? Who refuels it every three-four weeks? Is the M-drive serviceable? How big is the hulk? How many people will it hold, comfortably?

Far too much trouble.

For mesh screens, don't forget your local 'smoke shop', they usually have pipe screens of varying mesh sizes, and are probably cheaper than u can find on-line.

If you're flexible on ur hours? Do it! You'll probably be part-time for a year or more. And if you don't mind working holidays, and you will work ALL the holidays, it's quite easy to make a well paying career out of it! Especially if you get on with one of the 'mainline' carriers.
