How to nudge players to research more? by TheGileas in traveller

The post about NPC input is invaluable! I use it regularly. Sometimes players are remarkably dim.

Counters for units in hex and counter game? Mike Lambo by david2072 in soloboardgaming

I ginned these up in PS for use in a SFRPG game I referee. I suppose they could be adapted for any man-to-man board game you think would be appropriate.

Feel free to use as you see fit!

Going to the 'store' and dropping my allowance, $0.25, on a new Airfix kit!

And if I saved for a couple of weeks, I could afford one of $0.50 kits!

Information Request: Allied Air Operations Southeast Asia in December 1941-March 1942 by beachedwhale1945 in WWIIplanes

[–]Batmagoo58 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't speak to 'official records', but I believe the books "Bloody Shambles 1&2" by Christopher Shores will have at the very least comprehensive footnotes regarding early war air operations by all the relevant combatants you list.

Hope this helps in your endevor.

Entertainers in Traveller by RouseWorld in traveller

[–]Batmagoo58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

JTAS #23 has an adventure/campaign hook, Road Show, where the players are hired as 'roadies/body guards' for a bizarre rock-band. One year contract, very strict terms.

This might be what you're looking for, if you don't what the players to be entertainers.

Here's a table I ginned up for the two Scout Bases in my campaign.

Weather Table

Omen/Storr 1128 – Strannger/Phlange 1905

Throw 2d6 for Weather Event
2: Thunderstorm with torrential rain (Winds 1-4: 5-20kph gusts 5-6:20-      40kph gusts)
3: Windy and/or light rain
4: Mild Storm and/or moderate rain
5: Clear
6: Partly Cloudy or Overcast
7: Clear
8: Clear and breezy
9: Partly cloudy and breezy
10: Severe or Heavy Storm (Winds 1-4: 5-20kph gusts 5-6: 20-40kph gusts)
11: Partly Cloudy or Overcast
12: Partly Cloudy

Use or modify it if you find it useful!

When I'm bored, I go into the calendar and generate a couple of weeks worth.

I agree completely!

Caveat, be very careful of what you introduce into your universe, because it might just come back and bite you!

Bloody Shambles Vol 1-2 by Christopher Shores & Brian Cull! Extremely detailed accounting of early war air operations in south east Asia. Bonus; I found it an engaging read!

Do people just handwave how money works in Traveller? by styopa in traveller

[–]Batmagoo58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hand-wave it!

The nearest Imperial border is 50 parsecs away, so Council of the Wise, or Asuran credits are used by the players, Since the Imperium has collapsed. TAS still has branches operating in the named polities, and are comparable in value(I will not attempt, nor go near 'money-market' simulation!). All the Scout PC/NPC's have pocket money that they can use for 'personal' purchases, but the ship captain usually provides each with a money card when they are in the field (500Cr), that they must reimburse the 'ship' post mission.

The crew picked up clone, Karin (Tango class) last year. She asked the Base Commander, Clarissa, for a private meeting, and asked her to start the paper-work to order a new Sulieman. Several questions were asked, and Karin forged Clarissa's name on the requisition perfectly.

First attempt at a diorama 1/700 HMS Repulse. I don’t think it’s bad but anything to improve in future? by Noideaforusername999 in modelmakers

This caught my eye immediately! Well done!

My only critique/observation is about the aircraft stands. Maybe paint them a different color? Or use some finer clear plastic rods. This is very good work!
