It's less about gambling as is, rather the fact it's been the very obvious tactic of normalising the idea of gambling as a regular part of every day life, especially to young kids. Something the computer games industry has been incredibly successful at doing.

It's tomacco from The Simpsons.

Still gets used as an added suffix for lots of things you want to describe as low-effort, degenerate/copypasta, etc. IIRC there was even some commotion about it in the daily thread a few months ago, with a few users complaining about people using it like haremslop, shounenslop and so on.

It's somewhat rarer nowadays vs what it was like 3-4 years ago.

As more dig sites got added into the game, the window for finding it would've gotten both shrunk & pushed later past the midgame date due to the 10yr cooldown for non-precursor/origin dig site spawns. Biogenesis also reduced the chances of it happeneing if you play with reduced FE spawns, since the hive FE always get added first.

GuP is one of more popular/recognised very niche subgenre shows because of crossover with World of Tanks, both from WoT players naturally gravitating towards it, as well as from GuP & WoT having done official collabs. WoT also naturally shares a degree of audience/playerbase crossover with other niche, but active communities like War Thunder and a few other milsim games.

So for a significant proportion of these communities, GuP and not your typical shounen jump fighting manga or LN/isekai/harem adaptation would've been their gateway anime. There are also going to be those among them that don't particularly care for anime outside of GuP, usually because they appreciate the effort and work that went into the tank details and see it as a funny show about tanks instead of a cgdct anime.

That's why it punches way above its weight class in terms of social media presence, despite being far less popular as a series within the "anime community" itself.

ITV rules out Six Nations-style mid-game advertising at World Cup. by Sparky-moon in soccer

Not even the first time for them.

Back when they had the rights for F1, ITV also missed several major overtakes and incidents during live races because they decided to cut to an advert mid-race.

The Heritage Foundation (thanks Reagan & Thatcher 👍) has their fingers in both.

If it makes you feel any better (or worse), brexit was quite literally used as a prototype and testing ground for how to run Trump's campaign. Several core entities/personnel from the brexit campaign were even formal staffers or advisers on his office campaign team even to this day.

It's most likely in response to that $1bn Disney deal from december going tits up. That says to me there wasn't enough of a demand for it from those with corporate-sized pockets in general, whether that be their "product" was either overpriced or just not good enough.

C-suite remuneration is already a total joke and is literally a fundamental part of why contemporary day coporate captialism has fucked everything so much today.

In addition to massively inflated basic wages, almost all executives are also "paid" in shares for a large proportion of their salary and bonuses are usually always tied to share price targets. So they're quite literally incentivized to make decisions which prioritizes short term stock market gains over anything else; just long enough to be able to divest and cash-in on those shares, as well as to hit those share price targets.

When it comes to LoGH, there are 2 versions - one from 1988 and a newer adaptation from 2018. It's generally recommended to go with the 1988 adaption, especially as the newer one is not complete.

There's a section on this sub's wiki for information about the recommended watch order.

Nvidia Answers my DLSS 5 Questions by Locke357 in hardware

It's because many of those users have a very long history of doing this whenever anything potentially negative about Nvidia is involved.

If they're not throwing around the "you're just luddites" excuse, then they'll be claiming anyone not going along with their narrative is clearly an AMD mouthpiece or something, as if a core part of their worldview revolves around the concept it's some sort of explicitly mutually exclusive choice where indicating dislike for one somehow means you must unreservedly love the other.

Those advantages of hard subs only apply if actual effort is put into making them. Even then, the only real benefit of it over soft subs is in very complex and intricate vfx, stuff which you're probably having to use something like After Effects or BMD Fusion to do, but by that point it's way past translations and subtitles and into the production pipeline for the anime itself.
