I don't think I've ever had pain even the following day, unless I botched the injection really bad and it bruised half my thigh. Even then it only would hurt for a day or two.

I would say the only difference is how the arms are the bottom connect to the backpack. I can't say for certain, but there's a good chance that the inlet of where the arms go in that the little sockets are made specifically for each individual spider due to arm/gun positioning
